What Giles said is true, however the real announcement is that he is going to Tibet to become a Monk and pursue his spiritual inclinations.

He prefers to live his life without women, alcohol and cigarettes. He will have his head shaved shortly (wont take long) then leave for Tibet as soon as possible.

Giles is teaching him how to pick up a yak and form a deep and meaningful relationship.
