Following the two car bombs that were found in London yesterday (but thankfully didn't go off) there has been another disturbance, this time in Scotland.  Luckily it appears nobody has been killed.

Two Held As Burning Jeep Strikes Airport

Two people have been arrested after a burning Jeep smashed through the terminal building at Glasgow airport.

Holidaymakers reported hearing a series of loud "bangs" and saw two men - one of whom was on fire - emerge from the vehicle.

The man on fire was knocked down by a member of the public before he was arrested by police.There are reports of several injuries. The man on fire was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Glasgow. His accomplice is at a police station in the area.Downing Street said Prime Minister Gordon Brown was "being kept aware" of the incident, which came a day after two car bombs were found in London.A Home Office spokesman said that the official security alert level remains at "severe", as it has been for some time.The Cherokee 4x4 smashed into a glass door at Terminal One of the airport, the busiest in Scotland, which has now been closed.But there are reports the occupants - described as Asian males - were trying to pour petrol on the flames.Scott Gleeson said he saw the jeep speed up and swerve towards the terminal at an angle to hit the door."They were obviously trying to get through to cause as much damage as possible," he said.Holidaymaker Stephen Clarkson said he knocked one of the men to the floor before police intervened.He said: "There was an Asian male. He was lying on the floor and he was on fire, the Jeep was on fire as well."The fellow got up and started fighting with police. I managed to knock the Asian fellow to the ground and four police officers got on top of him."He added: "His whole body was on fire. He was quite a big fellow and was disorientated otherwise I wouldn't have been able to knock him down."James Edgar told Sky News: "People were running past like they has missed their flight. They told us all to get out of the airport."Everyone was in a panic and police and security were scuffling with an Asian gentleman."He added: "There was a lot of anger - if the crowds had got hold of this gentleman it would have been the end of him."

is it just an accident or a terrorist attack ?

Has to be a terrorist attack....witnesses said the two guys were trying to pour petrol on the flames once they were out of the jeep.

The good news about this incident is the "terrorists" were captured alive in what I assume can be classed as an attempted suicide attack to cause mass destruction and death. These guys are lucky to be alive because Im sure there would have been many men in that airport who would have torn them from limb to limb just for spilling their beer, never mind trying to blow up the airport :-)

Hopefully the men who were arrested will produce some good intelligence informtion under "questioning", and just as importantly I hope the bastards suffer for a long long time..........

i second those sentiments George..... although i would have liked the police to leave them at the hands of a lynch mob just as much.

I agree it has to be a deliberate attack, it is virtually impossible to accidently ram the building because of the way the roads are laid out in front of the airport.

It also appears to be a very amatuerish attack.........

Should have put them out then let the masses have a kick or two then set them alight again.

People like this need to be set up as examples to the world for what happens to a terrorist when we catch the bastards. Unfortunately the prisons in the UK are far too lenient, and as George says, a lot of nasty things go on that might be against their human rights..tut-tut...

I would love to see scum like this put in prison somewhere in the world where there is no such thing as political correctness and huiman rights...not that we have such places of course...ahem...

The only other thing I will say about this is that they are extremists or just simply power mad terrorists - they are not, by any definition, Muslims - they are a blight on the human race, but no-one could ever consider maniacs like this to have an ounce of true religion in their body.

As much as I agree with you that the Uk is far too lenient towards prisoners...( Im sure u dont know the half of it!! yes the country has gotten THAT bad) But to string these arseholes up like they deserve, would only add to the so called martydom status they sooo strive for, if not add another couple of virgins onto the waiting list wherever the **** it is they end up...Then again, what is the answer??

They tried to drive a car laden with gas canisters into a packed airport terminal on the first day of the school holidays. 35 000 people were due to pass thru Glasgow airport on Saturday mainly familes so ohhhh yes the airport was packed with children.

The 'pitiful' attempt at a terrorist attack you seem to find so amusing, only failed as the car luckily got caught on a road sign half way thru the terminal doors. How many people/children would have died if it had managed to get through? Yep......really something to laugh about that.
