Both Jum and I like the Thai festival of Loy Kratong. On November 13 Jum and I celebrated it over here in Amsterdam by making our own kratong. I know you guys did that on the 12th, but somehow it looked more like a full moon on the 13th over here. As a base we used polystyrene foam. We fixed coins to the bottom for stability and luck.Then we pinned lilly leaves at the edge.continued by adding the lillies itself and heatherother leaves followed and a candle and insencehere you'll see it ready, with some yellow tulips to make it even more colorfulready to go?float!We felt a bit awkward walking to the water with our kratong in the middle of the night, stand alone throwing it in the water... Some people who must have seen us must have thought we were a a bit luny. And... yes we are!

well loony comes from the word lunar so very apt, and, as Nicky said, a very beautiful Krathong too. Hope you wrapped up well!!

I understand that u cant find a banana leave but polystyrene foam? Why not bread? That way it wouldnt ruin the environment lol
