there were hundreds of rounds fired at his vehicle (according to Bangkok Post, Nation, and other news sources). Sondhi took one in the head. According to Channel 7, the bullet is lodged below the skin. And I saw a pic of him standing behind his shot up car, covered in blood.... but standing for the picture.

beej and CiaranM: what Jan was trying to say was that there is no capital gains tax on the individuals selling their shares in Thailand - none whatsoever - just ask any stock broker working on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Thaksin and his family members were not doing anything LEGALLY wrong, by selling their individual stakes of Shin Corp to Temasak Holding.

Politically, it was a BIG mistake for him.

Both the Securities Exchange Commission of Thailand and the Revenue Department have investigated it and found no wrong doing.

Meaning he does not have to pay tax on that $73 Billion bahts!!!

So unless the Revenue Department and/or the SEC can make another charge stick in relation the Shin Corp sale, Thaksin and his family members will get their $73 Billion bahts back with interest!!!
