Extinct? Hmm I'm not so sure about that. There are more than 100 000 minke whales in the North Atlantic region, and Norwegian hunters catch about 700 whale a year.

WWF says there are between 100.000 and 200.000 of the northern mink whale, but it is still assumed to be endangered. For sure Idar ate the whale for scientific reasons and research only..

- North Atlantic right whale

- Blue whale

- Fin whale

- Sei whale

It aint a matter of hate you or not for eating whale, but in my eyes you better not proclaim it. It is a tradition in Norway, similar or at least comparable to Japan, and as long as the fleets do not exceed the limits, even WWF can live with you eating whale. I tried it once a long time ago in 1972 and it wasnt up to my gusto.
