Ice_Coop 0 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share How could you!? I think Norwegian don't eat whale anymore.... it's almost extinct. Hate you Quote Link to comment
Neutron 0 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share This is not cool. Are you going to work your way down the list of endangered species. How about some Gorilla or Panda next Quote Link to comment
idar73 0 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share Extinct? Hmm I'm not so sure about that. There are more than 100 000 minke whales in the North Atlantic region, and Norwegian hunters catch about 700 whale a year. Quote Link to comment
Damnam1 2 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share WWF says there are between 100.000 and 200.000 of the northern mink whale, but it is still assumed to be endangered. For sure Idar ate the whale for scientific reasons and research only.. Quote Link to comment

idar73 0 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share WWF doesn't include Minke whale in their "Priority species list": -Right whales - Bowhead whale - North Atlantic right whale - Blue whale - Fin whale - Sei whale - Gray whale http://www.panda.org/what_we_do/endangered_species/endangered_species_list/ Quote Link to comment
Damnam1 2 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share They do: http://wwf-arten.wwf.de/detail.php?id=189 It aint a matter of hate you or not for eating whale, but in my eyes you better not proclaim it. It is a tradition in Norway, similar or at least comparable to Japan, and as long as the fleets do not exceed the limits, even WWF can live with you eating whale. I tried it once a long time ago in 1972 and it wasnt up to my gusto. Quote Link to comment
