'What do you want to be when you grow up?' asked, my dad

'A teacher' at the age of 7 , I answered

'Do you still want to be a teacher when you grow up?'

'Maybe a writer' at the age of 12, I answered

'Don't you think you could be a doctor?' my old man asked with a puzzle in his eyes

'I don't think so..maybe an editor for a magazine' said I when I changed my study plan from Math and Science to Linguistic.

My father stopped asking me. He knew I would choose the best for myself even though he disagreed when I introduced myself to the world of charity and volunteers.

Tell me...

My lil BQ..

What do you want to be when you grow up?

She went to a mini mart  with me for a snack and I asked her to pick just one thing and gave her only 10 seconds ..and this girl chose the best and the most expensive one!

Tell me !!!!!!!

"give me the child of 7 and I will deliver the man" (applies to females too)

Many things can be seen about us when we look at this period in our childhood... and what we will become when we are grown up. Check out the documentary series... "7 up"

while i understand the sentiment not sure that's the best example to use. it's basically the Jesuit doctrine which meant if they got the kid early enough they could brainwash them to believe any f**king bullshit they were fed.

which helps explain why ALL religions want to get kids indoctrinated as early as possible .... i mean if they waited until we were 15/16 before spouting those fairy tales to us we'd laugh in their faces .... well most of us would .... i hope !!!!

I was so caught up in the romantic notions and associations of certain positions like being a fireman or policeman because I wanted to be the hero that saved people. Through life I have still clung to dreams and idealist causes hoping I could do something and be someone "important." I even wanted to be the president at one point. It's funny how many people have these kinds of aspirations thinking that once they attain them, then they will be happy. Having a lot of money, having a fancy title, or having power. I was somewhat in a position like that about 4 years ago and I couldn't believe how ruthlessly competitive people were. All the positioning, posturing, and falseness to it all. It really demoralized me. I found out that I wanted to be something or something that was "important" because then I would really be loved. I wanted love. And so do those other people whether they know it or not. My ideals have shifted. The most important position in the world I think is a parent. Whether biological or occupational roll. And with that is more love than anywhere else, I think. :)
