Renting a house in Bangkok?

Hello Guys and Gays,

Is it realistic to rent a house in BKK in 20k range?

I am starting a business and think that it would be cool to combine the office and the house in one shot. I don't really want to venture out too far out of the city. So far I find that apartments I like are in the 10k - 15k range and offices are 5k to 9k range... so I though why not combine the two.

Your thought?

Where to look?

And thank you.

I found a nice one the other day, though it is a little out of the way, its pretty rad....

You would get it for 25k.

If not you can get a town house cheap, I rent one in Wong Wian Yai as a studio for under 7k a month with 4 floors.

Thanks Beej, That house looks RAD and I can afford that.

If its still available when all my papers go through I may just rent it.

How did you find it? or did your Mrs do it?

Found it online I think, its alright, the bedroom is insane, 6 meter high ceilings and all very open and good for parties.

You'll like it.

Oh it's called detailed search, after that just click on the BKK map, choose an area of bkk etc. Found 8 houses between 10-25k in the eastern part of BKK. So there are probably more houses/town houses in that range in the other areas.

Only to compare: For a quite good house 2 sleeping rooms, 2 bathrooms, with a small, nice garden in Hua Hin you pay about 15.000 Baht a month.
