Beergirl's (don't u just love that name) Blog about the Infinity pool in Singapore reminded me of when I stayed at the Knadalama Hotel, Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

It's smack bang in the centre of the Cultural Triangle in Sri Lanka of Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura and is probably one of the nicest hotels i've ever stayed in.

The pool overlooks a large tank/inland lake. pics below.

i'll see if i can dig out some photos from the caves, temples and statues tomorrow.

Looks cool.

Mention of Sri Lanka brings back memories.

I learnt to scuba dive there several years ago. Hikkaduwa, and Unawatuna. I heard the latter got damaged by the tsunami. I wouldn't mind going back again though, as it was a nice place to chill.

cheers funky .... did some diving around hikkaduwa and unawatuna myself. both beautiful chilled out places. but both also badly damaged by the tsunami in 2004.

sri lanka was a lovely place to stay stevie, but it didn't have the same leisure activities that u can find in thailand !! so hotels, caves and temples it was .... except for the occassional trip to thailand !!
