We had a strong partial in the south of england a few years ago. The thing I remember was how all the birds stopped singing.

Also if you don't have a special filter for looking at the sun, looking through a CD works quite (look through the plastic, not the the hole)

You are right animals are really in tune to stuff like that - I remember one time just before we had a slight earthquake my cat was acting all strange just before it happened..I will remember that about the CD as a filter thx dude...

it's always fun when you know there is an eclipse due to make your way to largely unexplored regions and find a remote tribe. Tell them you can kill the sun and bring it back to life. Once the eclipse is over they will shower you with virgins and precious stones!!

I know this eclipse only lasted 6 mins and 39 seconds believe it or not they usually last a shorter period of time

amazing that they can predict when they happen and roughly how long they will take astronomers predicted

this one would last 7 mins or so their calculation was very close.

I agree when they showed everything in darkness and all the flashes going off - must have been insane in china when everything went dark stuff like this will always amaze me.
