Chatty
My friend who is an English teacher came to see me yesterday, she like to do the advert for English program with Wall Street ... for 1 course my company will pay 50% about 16,xxx baht and Staff pay 50% 16,xxx baht. It's 3xxxx / Course, may be. Actually, I'm interested in but on another hand, I never pay that much for English Institue. It's computer base learning I know. I went to Wall Street at Metro Mall and met Khun David.. (big guy) there. He shown me around the institue. and he asked me to try the program. It was cool but I don't know why i like to study with teacher... lol technophobia may be. My friend said it was good, but I feel she didn't improve much. She still doesn't have confidence to speak until now. I attended the "Get Confidence" class once. The teachers are young and handsome... I think it's the way to attract ppl to study with them. Does anyone hear any feed back about this place before I pay big money (for me it is) to them? Thks.
Sasie
Let check with Pantip or google and see how much of people gave positive or negative feedback. My company selected 'Inlingua' and I've to pay nothing.
English_Bob
I have a couple of friends who work there. Maybe the young handsome guys you mentioned. Neither of them could be classed 'a good teacher'. Lack of grammar knowledge, unprofessional and not averse to banging students. However, if the job is to make Thai students less shy and want to use English, there's no problem. They speak well enough and are pleasant guys. You need to find out how long the course is, what it covers and what the background of the teachers is.
Exploring
I would recommend Academic English program at AUA, even though you have to take classes on Weekdays; 9 am.- 3 pm. Most teachers have Phd in teaching english and literature. I was not a good student at that time, but did really enjoy classes a lot both teachers and friends. Most people who took this course were ones who got government scholarship and one prepared for studying Master and / or Phd's degree abroad. I probably claim my money back a bit for being a presenter since our big picture live on the website now . FYI, things might be changed since I took that classes 5 years ago.If you are interested, I would be glad to help out.

Do I wanna get confidence to speak English? I think I have 100% and more. I told the Wallstreet guy already. My listening isn't bad, grammar sucks, speaking so so... TOEIC score I think my score 865 is better than many Thai flight attendances. So what I really wanna improve is my writing skill, speaking skill, wanna speak like a native speaker haha I mean I wanna improve my accent. Some ppl said I have American accent... hahaha Thinglish still Thinglish.

Sasie
Then why don't you study from TU or CU if you wanna improve your writing? Well your TOEIC score is excellent ^_~
Exploring
What about private courses? I don't know ones who are qualified with affordable price though. You form a group of 2-3 people and ask any english schools for the costs. This way you can improve particular skills , especially accent. I think it is a pretty good idea that I want one too. You wont be bored with general stuffs that you already know , but forget as you can find that in books, internet.FYI, Berlitz language school has good reputation to me. Two friends of mine and two persons I knew studied there as a small group. They told that it is good and the price is the same as Wall Street. Two of them are doctors and studied there while they were working.

Sasie
Yes I heard that CU & TU opens writing English course and it's cheaper than other institutes. However, let read from below link I got from Pantip (Thai language) may be you will get more ideas. http://www.pantip.com/cafe/klaibann/topic/H8474785/H8474785.html And this is a link of สถาบันภาษา มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ http://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%96%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%A0%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A9%E0%B8%B2_%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%A2%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%A2%E0%B8%98%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%A8%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%8C Edited June 1, 2011 by Sasie
SweetieBabie
I am sorry to say that Wall Street is not worth the money. It is SUPER pricey. +1 if you do, you would be paying for fancy advertising they've invested and fratboy-ish white teachers they hired. I don't think i could concentrate in those classrooms, not to mention be more "confident". In fact, i might have to bring several pair of panties. koolbreez
If that is the only reason you want to take classes is to improve your writing skills, then you should think about private instruction. My friend's wife studied with a Thai lady that is accredited, and did not charge much. Using a private instructor would be better in targetting what your exact needs would be, and how to concentrate only in the areas you need improvement in. With your level of competency I think there would be allot of the classes that would be a waste of money for you, as it would just be repeating areas you were strong in already. Using a private instructor I feel would be a better use of your money, and would be of more use by you. If you do want to use a formal school though, Language Express has evening classes, or Saturday, and discount coupons for there classes right next to the Ploen Chit BTS station. They have a website, the coupons.co.th website has discounts for them. If you want to use a private instructor I could get the name, and number of the one my friend's wife used here in Bangkok.
