Farang residents V Farang Tourists

Why do farang expats look down their noses at farang tourists for going to bars and chasing girls when in 99% of cases this is exactly what they came to Thailand for in the first place.

I want answers.

I have always seen it from as a different scenario though. I've always kept myself to myself and if i needed info or help I had Thai mates to help me out. I don't think in the times i've stayed in BKK I have ever approached another Farang for any reason.

Say if I was sitting outside Gullivers soi 5 with a few of my thai mates (normally all Thai girls, students and post grads, not hookers), I would still get some looks from the older farang / ex-pats as if to say "stupid kid" or "what are you doing here." I always put it down to them not liking outsiders / new faces.

Either that or it's my extreme paranoia..

well guess the problem is most ppl seeing any farang with any thai girl in and around sukhumvit will automatically assume it is a farang along with a bg. i used to drink in gullivers soi 5 regularly and liked the bar, but my ex hated going there ... her reason everyone assumed she was a bar girl. mind u gullivers does attract more than it's fair share of free lancers !!

if u wanna see older farangs who r complete and utter assholes try Jools bar soi 4 sukhumvit. i have never in my life met a more miserable shower of moaning twats in my life. i reckon if they were muslim and got to the promised land with their 72 virgins they would still find some f**king thing to ***** about !!

the main bug bear i have with "young tourists" is being constantly asked "where's the best go go bars and/or shows" and "how much should i pay for a girl"

mind u when they r told "i don't f**king know and i don't f**king care" they usually get the message !!

hmmm i've been steerin' em toward the "cabaret" shows on that special soi off silom, telling 'em to go for the tallest girls, and give about 12,000 baht "taxi money."

probably a) your extreme paranoia and quite likely older farangs were probably sex tourists not sexpats. gullivers (sukhumvit) is close to "the action" so to speak.

the ones in the diesel shorts or billabong shorts are probably not local; the fat old farrangs who live here generally dont try to dress like a 14 year old to impress the bargirls.
