Travel is one of the best things to learn about real life in my opinion, so i will try to travel and see the world as much as i can. Here are some places i would really love to see, of course there are MANY more. 1.Finland 2.Taj Mahal-India 3.Hawaii 4.Maldives 5.Cape Town - South Africa 6.Las Vegas 7.South Island - NZ 8.Grand Canyon - USA 9.Great Barrier Reef -OZ 10.All the unseen in Thailand places!!! Down2Earth
10. Rio de Janeiro, BrazilSo what if the crime gets you [shot] down at times, and the telecommunication companies have yet to provide phones for everyone -- that is why you have mobiles, no? You can bet your last Brazilian Real that with the best beaches in the world, you will not be looking for your phone anyway. Also, this is the country that brought you Gisele Bundchen, so need we say more? 9. Frankfurt, Germany Germany is one of the richest and most modern countries in the world. It offers great employment careers, an elevated standard of life, and is rich with history. Few countries manage to blend state of the art technology with arts and culture like the Germans do. Football is the passion and beer is the beverage of choice (or anything with alcohol content). Germany's "aversion" to military spending after World War II partially explains why it has risen so much, by pouring all of its finances into health, sciences, the economy, and all the other good things in life. 8. Paris, France How could we leave out the City of Lights? Whether you wish to go sightseeing or spend your honeymoon in Paris, the French Capital has something for everyone. It is for this reason that many young foreigners live in Paris for a few years to learn the culture, history and the bad manners (oh c'mon, don't even think of blasting me...). Although the food will take some time to get used to, you can drink enough wine to lose your taste buds, so don't worry, be happy. 7. London, United Kingdom While Ireland's Dublin has rapidly risen in status, London still has a unique charm amongst international cities. Yes, the weather is gloomy and many would never live there, but the raw energy of London and its deep historical roots are hard to beat. The city has also managed to do well economically, despite shunning the EU. As for Fish 'N Chips, hey, it can't be that bad with all that beer. In all fairness, there has been a culinary improvement in London in recent years, as Europeans have settled in the Foggy City and brought along their influences. 6. Hong Kong, China Yes, Tokyo, Singapore and Bangkok have much to offer, but as the gateway into China, Hong Kong is a pearl in the Far East as capitalism has collided with communism. The place is always alive, even after the British handed the island back to the Chinese. Hong Kong is full of history and provides a glimpse of what happens when Asian beliefs meet European culture. 5. Madrid, Spain Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla... Spain is just beautiful. The weather is great, the ladies are stunning and the food is pretty good too. While Barcelona's thriving economy would help it outrank Madrid, some of us prefer to live in peaceful times all year long; sorry Barcelona. 4. New York City, United States San Francisco, New Orleans, Santa Fe, Seattle, Charleston, Phoenix, and Chicago are all wonderful cities. In fact, many in the panel even preferred Chicago, but New York is the capital of the world for a reason. Cosmopolitan, diverse, amazing food, great nightlife, lots to do, big parks, and the center of the business world. With Bill Clinton's wife running the State, it can only get better. 3. Rome, Italy While Florence, Venice and Milan all got votes, Rome's popularity in international circles and its rich history, combined with its fashion, modernity, cleanliness, arts, and culture, made it stand out. If you have never been to Italy, make sure to go. If you happen to visit Europe, then consider your trip incomplete until you give Rome a visit. If the country focused more on the economy, it could place even higher, but isn't that what gives it its Italian charm? 2. Sydney, Australia Sydney (along with Melbourne) are part of the reason why so many people love Australia. The cosmopolitan city offers great beaches, beautiful weather (albeit too hot sometimes), a strong economy, and very beautiful women who like to drink with the best of them. Too bad the ozone layer is missing above the city. The only knock against Sydney is what also gives Australia its charm -- it is too bloody far away from everything. 1. Montreal, Canada Yes, it is very cold in the winter, but some actually like winter sports. Many do not like the weather, so why don't they ever leave Montreal? Let's see: it's the most cosmopolitan and multicultural city, which explains why it has the most beautiful women, diverse restaurants and an amazing nightlife (ask any Formula One driver). The economy is growing rapidly, the arts and culture are extremely diverse and rich, and it offers you all four seasons to the fullest. Although the language questions become mundane, they provide for good entertainment. To top it all off, Canada is systematically voted the Top Country by the United Nations. Do you speak french? I Have never (yet) been to France but i have been to Montreal and damn...that was fun as all the signs are written in french. I got a map but it was quite useless as it's in english. So i stoped the car and asked people and yes!!! they only speak french. It was BIg fun for me though.Would love to go back again someday. And also the west coast of Canada. Down2Earth
My Top 10 List.(3) Sapporo, Japan. One of the few major cities in Japan that I have not been to. I've spent a lot of time in Japan, but I've never been to Hokkaido....supposed to be such a beautiful place. (2) Verbier, Switzerland, for skiing in the winter: My first trip outside the USA was during high school for a ski trip to Switzerland. I have such warm, fond memories of that trip. I really want to go back there someday. (1) ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND. I have been there before, for 2 weeks of training in July 2004, and I will get back there again in July 2005. St. Moritz is just perhaps the most beautiful place on the planet. It is the ideal training environment for a marathon runner. Clean air, 2000 meter elevation, lakes, soft trails, a nice running track. Runners from all over the world go there to train in the summer. Can't wait to get back there in July!! I will be there once again with my friend Dan Browne, one of America's top distance runners. Ladies check him out at www.danbrowne.com Switzerland and Japan are interesting , i do agree. Thanks for sharing man.

Down2Earth
1) Gallipoli - Turkey. For ANZAC Day 25th AprilMind telling me a bit about ANZAC day? Would be an absolute pleasure and I'm glad u asked On 25 April every year Australians commemorate Anzac Day. It is Australia's sacred day. The day has the same significance in New Zealand, Australia's counterpart in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (the ANZACs) at Gallipoli. On 25 April 1915, the Anzacs landed at a difficult and desolate spot on the Gallipoli peninsula and the Turks appeared to be ready for them. The Anzacs made little headway over a series of rocky heights covered with thorny scrub. At great cost the Anzacs, British and French made small advances, but Its force was wasting with casualties and sickness, while the Turks were able to reinforce their forces. In August another offensive was made against the Turks, casualties were heavy, but it failed and a defeat was inevitable, The Gallipoli campaign was a debacle, Military censorship prevented the true story being told but a young Australian journalist, Keith Murdoch (father of Australian newspaper tycoon Rupert Murdoch) smuggled the story about the scale of the Dardanelles disaster back to the Australian Prime Minister who sent it on to the British Prime Minister David Lloyd George, who was no friend of the British military establishment. It led directly to the dismissal of the British commander, Sir Ian Hamilton who never again was to hold a senior military position. The all volunteer ANZACs were in Gallipoli for only 8 months. (Gallipoli is not a city, but refers to an area called the Gallipoli Peninsula, very near the famous ancient city of Troy.) During the campaign 7,600 Australians and nearly 2,500 New Zealanders died and 19,000 Australians and 5,000 New Zealanders were wounded. Less than 100 were taken prisoner. The Australians rose to the occasion. They did not wait for orders, or for the boats to reach the beach, but sprang into the sea, formed a sort of rough line, and rushed at the enemy?s trenches. Their magazines were not charged, so they just went in with the cold steel, and it was over in a minute for the Turks in the first trench had been either bayoneted or had run away, and the Maxim guns were captured. [Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett, from the first report in Australia of the Australian landing at Gallipoli Reprinted from the Hobart Mercury, 8 May 1915] Bullets struck fireworks out of the stones along the beach. The men did not wait to be hit, but wherever they landed they simply rushed straight up the steep slopes. Other small boats...were digging for the beach with oars. These occupied the attention of the Turks in the trenches, and almost before the Turks had time to collect their senses, the first boatloads were well up towards the trenches. Few Turks awaited the bayonet. [Charles bean, War Correspondent 1915] Many young aussies, Kiwi's, Brits, Canooks and even Turks make the pilrimage very year to pay respects to those who gave their lives in this great military blunder. Many Australians believe this was the moment in our history where we became a nation so great weight is put on the event. I would love nothing more than to do a dawn service, experience that faithful morning on 25th April. It's the one day a year I get to wear my own medals I have accumulated through military service and I take pride in the Anzac legend and our part we played in all the conflicts there after. Thanks a lot! I appreciate your kindness. Cheers!

khun_lung
I consider myself extremely fortunate. I worked in international marketing for more than 25 years and during that time I had the privilege to visit more than 50 countries around the world, and most of the places that are on your dream lists. And it's also how I was introduced to Thailand, the place I now call home. Do I have stories to tell? Of course! I was in the U.S. Army but I never went to the Vietnam war. It wasn't until I was a businessman that I got shot at! Really! (in Lebanon, during the civil war) So let me do this - the best and the worst. The worst place I ever visited: Somalia (East Africa). Unbelievably poor, dirty, no decent hotels and dangerous. But I have to say I met some really nice people. The best place I ever visited: French Polynesia (also called Tahiti)! And probably the most expensive! The ocean water is clear as a diamond and the weather is absolutely perfect - the closest thing to pardise on earth. I would love to go back! It's the most romantic place you can possibly imagine!
