Don't ask me why you and your friend saw a censored version, but yesterday I saw "300" in Paragon No. 14 and I don't think there was anything censored because I saw the girly bits and a lovescene between the King and the Queen and a hot Persian party.. Appreciate
I haven't seen the movie yet , but its very big here in Canada as well. I read that the film was shot in my hometown of Montreal , but of course you cant see it because all the film is (except for the actors ) computer generated. From the trailer you can see that its not a realistic type of film, more like a fantasy based on Frank Miller. The whole production look great to me with amazing cinematography. Definetely going to see it very soon.

sunsnow
That movie will be showing here on 6th of April. Hmm pretty darn weird, considering that it is Easter. As the rules to let that kind of movies to play during Christian holidays were not that long ago lifted...now they are having premier nights during the Easter for a gorefest like 300...Not allowed under 15 yrs old...well, thats the explanation. From the stuff ppl spoken here I would have thought it would be not allowed under 18...Well, we Scandinavians are pretty violent... Well, I am not going to be near a movie theater during that weekend but I think going to see this brainless movie but pretty damn good looking one soon. Deester
It was good for what it is, but a little out there with the creatures and so on. But entertaining. As for the 6 packs, mostly all of the bodys they used cgi on them. Well of course most of the movie too was cgi. *obvious* I seen a behind the scenes of it. I have seen a behind the scenes too. And i know how they make those 6 packs more contrast+deeper. But i still like the idea of how they present the movie, make a simple things looks awesome on the screen. And of course i enjoyed the 6 packs, even though its fake.

Anyone remember any of the winners? i believe dannyboy may know the source of the quote below!! (and no i'm not saying he said it!!) "two world wars and one world cup" I didn't know, had to look it up..... Two World Wars, One World Cup From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Two World Wars, One World Cup is a football song sung by supporters of the English National Team. It is especially directed at the German fans, making reference to the world wars that were fought in the 20th century, and how England defeated West Germany to win the 1966 FIFA World Cup. It is considered particularly inflammatory and in 2006 the Government of the UK cautioned fans travelling to Germany for the World Cup to refrain from taunting the locals with this tune. tech_noir
I was really expected that movie after reading the rummors about it... And since I live at about a hour of flight or 5 by car far from Sparta. Until I saw the trailer and the "making of"s. Spartans throwing weapons, persians are black barbarians... that was just too rediculous for me. I know it's a fiction. I know it is based on an american comix (so the author is not supposed to know much of what he is writting about), but it was far too much for me. A bunch of white greeks (on wich all the todays euro-american civilization is baset on) evently matches a milion of evil orc-looking, black persian/Iranian army, while US are trying to gather support for another (white) invasion, this time in Persia. No, thanks. I could not enjoy that. (I deeply respect the real history about this battle, but that movie is a mockery for the people who died deffending their homeland) P.S. Do look so black and evil? As I know (could be wrong, excusing myself if so) today's thai ruling dinasthy had come from Persia, as well as the Likay dance and the basics of all the modern optics and astronomy. rilly
Think you might be over-analyzing this film dude. orc looking things seem more evil and was probably their only motivation for using them.... more "LOTR" looking , i would be willing to bet that there wasn't a whole lot of consulting with the dark deformed lords on the mountaintop and getting hot chicks drunk to see the future in the real event either! Rhino warriors probably weren't too heavily involved nor crab people but they make for better cinema.... I seriously doubt this was a political statement of any sort, especially since the people who control film making in the US (except Mel Gibson) are extremely Liberal-minded.. I personally feel that the hunchbacks of the world should be very offended by this film... I think this is a really old thread anyway... -RiLINJuH!
