Kitty
Maybe you would like the bar in Sukhumvit Soi 23 called "Faith Bar". There is Dj every night, playing techno, trance, chill out, hip hop, all kind of music each night just different. Sort of like MOS but in small size. Also the other one on Silom Soi 4 called Tapas, nice music there, same type of music... Check it out, you might like it.

ling_dtua_khaao
The Green Mango plays standard techno too. The two nights we were there it was all hiphop and techno. I like Room 25 and Booze in Thonglor/Ekkamai area. (Sen) Song Saleung is good too. I liked Lava on Khaosan road but I heard they closed down. I've never tried Bed on Sukh soi 11 but want to go just because of the weird building. --Ling

ling_dtua_khaao
Witch's Tavern is good for jazz, and I like their jam sessions. (It would be more fun if I had the talent to join in though .) And I like the Thonglor/Ekkamai bar and club scene. There are some very rich Thai kids playing out at those places though! You see many cars that would be expensive here, let alone in Thailand with the 300% import duty (well, unless you know someone in the right place ). --Ling

S123arpedon
Does anyone know anything about the new closing hours? Apart from the designated zones will places like Q-bar and Bed be closing at 12? If they are only opening from 9 too that is 3 hours open to the public...can they survive on that? Then again, this is Thailand so will this new law actually be enforced?
NiceNYGuy
Actually as far as I've read nothing is set in stone yet. The most common rumour is that bars and clubs outside the 3 zones in Bangkok would be limited to opening 3 hours a night from 9 to midnight. There is movement towards adding a fourth zone Sukhumvit. People will be hurt whatever way this works out. There is no way to make money legally with those restrictions.
S123arpedon
Strange how Thailand is tightening its laws and Singapore is relaxing them, only a litle mind you! Didnt Taksin say that he wanted to stop underage drinking and drug use so that is why he is going to bring in this under 18 curfew...with the curfew surely htere is no need to shoten the opening hours of clubs/bars too... I think it will be a tough time for a lot of places...all the places in Thong Lor and Ekkamai. There will still be places to go to after hours, as there are now but gonn ahve to find em out. Acid-Devil
GREAT!! let's post it here too!! ... too bad i dont have any place to share ... heh ...
S123arpedon
If the new licensing laws become enforced then there will be more after hours places springing up all over the place. Places that become too popular will become closed down but there will be others ready to take their place...
