Came here with good intentions to set up a small business.

Then i met Ciaran and became an alcoholic, sought therapy moved to Phuket.

Met Ron and became an alcoholic again.

Took a plane to furthest place away from Phulket / Ron

Now live in Udon and back on original track.

I'm anxious to who you will meet in Udon

... what do you do here? Are you here for holiday, working, retired or do you simply have so much money that you lay on the beach and do nothing (except check the forum at TF)?

i own a business in Krabi, started out as a scuba instructor (big surprise!) moved on to teaching english (bigger surprise!) then opened a guesthouse that does ok, but it is not really helping me pay the mortgage on my villa in southern France. maybe i will open another one in Koh Phangen so i can double how quickly i deplete my savings!

i come on to TF to annoy Tatoodude and flirt with Dr. Sassy. then i "alt+tab" to a spreadsheet whenever a customer walks up to the desk...

"nothing going on here! just crunching numbers! 8)

First visited Thailand when I was 18. Now I'm nearly 40 (****). My dad's been living in BKK since 1983 originally for public health work, now retired for many years and old enough to be the father of even the oldest perverts here at TF (he's 81). I've never lived in Thailand, but because of the family connection have spent loads of time there. I love it. I'll live there in future - or ideally, do a 6 month/6 month kind of thing, if we can swing it. My fiancee is Thai, living with me here in Canada. But I can't leave Toronto permanently for some time yet, because there's a little boy here who needs me to be a good dad to him, and I have no desire to let him down.
