shortyg
U.S.A Many things good and bad can be said about this country I have visited many times as my father was a U.S citizen. I admire some of the artistic influences that the U.S.A. has given the world. The sounds of Jazz, funk, Soul and Hip Hop that influence me daily. Great movies and great directors and some amazingly understated Actors. Amazing architecture etc...the list can go on and on. On the other hand we have it's political, social and economic structure. To much to say in one post, but in brief I do not agree with it's foreign policy, I do not agree with the treatment of people by class and race that still happens in the U.S. and I do not believe it is a truly democratic society. I am not saying the U.K. is any better but thats for another forum.

GoldMember
Since last year. America have donated nearly 300 billion to other countries. "Fifteen of the twenty-two DAC member countries reported increased ODA(Official Development Assistance) in 2004. The United States remained the largest aid donor in volume terms, followed by Japan, France, the United Kingdom and Germany. The only countries to exceed the UN target for ODA of 0.7 percent of GNI remain Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. The United States' net ODA in 2004 was USD 19 billion, a 14.1 percent increase in real terms from 2003. Its ODA/GNI ratio rose from 0.15 percent to 0.16 percent. Most of the increase was due to a USD 1.8 billion contribution to the International Development Association (IDA), the grant and soft-loan arm of the World Bank. Aid to Afghanistan (USD 875 million) and Iraq (USD 2.9 billion) also rose substantially. United States ODA comprised 24.2 percent of the DAC total in 2004, its highest share since 1986, and nearly double the low point of 12.5 percent reached in 1995." Source -US government Slightly old figures but unless you count the occupation/involvement of/in Iraq/Afghanistan as 'aid',then the figure of $300billion is excessively high. I've grown up in one  "Freedom" is a nice word indeed. Have you red the Patriot Act? I was once live in a communist country(Vietnam). My parents took all of there children and fled by boat to sea for the word freedom. Now Vietnam is still under communism. There is a movie "journey of the fall". Watch that and see how Vietnam people fled the country because of communist. The movie is base on a true story. if they wanted to, they could take a monkey to the moon...... Why?
