Well, after 30 yrs with my company, I remember being hired into another dept, and I questioned the superior if I was hired on merit or by race? This was in SF, and the answer was to believed by race, only because the company had to fill it's quotas for hiring minorites. I thought that was a racist issue.

My company has very strict rules against racism, sexism, etc.

We had a Vice President fired because she called a guy from Pakistan a Pakie. (seems TF rewrites racial slurs .. so I had to misspell it to get my point across... haha)

I suppose have some reverse racism here .. last year when we were hiring for a junior in our department I would jump all over resumes that had Asian (typically Chinese or Vietnamese) family names. 99% of the time you can guarantee it's someone who will bust their ass for you.

Ended up hiring a young Vietnamese guy. Couldn't be happier with him! Well .. I would be happier if it was a hot Vietnamese girl.

I had an asian gf....we were walking on the footpath and some guys in a car drove past and shouted something to her. I didnt hear it, but she said they were calling her racist names and she was upset.

As we got closer to the intersection I noticed the car had pulled up at the lights. The guys in it were leaning out the window....I finally heard what they said and they were commenting on the "prettiness of her breasts" is the most polite way I can put it.

I was incensed enough to have a go at them before they pulled away but what she thought were racist comments were in fact sexist comments.

Theres no point to this story by the way.

Great that it worked in your favor!!

I moved from the USA because of the legalized discrimination of white males under the guise of "affirmative action"

Two masters, first one with 4.0 GPA, high standardized test scores, scads of positive recommendations and years of experience... could not get promoted.

I used to be pissed at the US gov't, but now I'm glad they drove me out to see the world.

my ex-gf parents are taiwanese and hate non taiwanese or chinese and especially non chinese. In work for Ernst and young as the only male in all female room joking with the female coworkers I said since only male means no talking only feminine issues, no monthly, no feminine products, no tampons etc... I lost contract without even getting to defend what I said was only taking at what the one person complained said I said!

Also recently in NY an Indian girl was denied school entry because of affirmative action finally worked in favor of whites and even though whites have been passed over for positions, promotions, or even entry into a company over less qualified minorities for decades this made the NY post!

  • 3 years later...

I was offered a job in Rayong purely on the basis ive white skin and was English as their client preferred dealing with the aforementioned people. After being traumatised by such racism, i turned it down as the wage was crap. Interviewer made me laugh though going on about all the stereotypes of us Brits and the rounder manly women over here.

Also whilst working in the building game my ex boss used to make sexually explicit innuendos towards me frequently, cant blame the *** though as im a hansum cnut!

I was with a black friend around Silom a few years ago, and we were refused entry to a bar. I knew why, but I pressed them to tell me why again and again. Finally, with a big smile on his face...the manager or whoever said that they didn't "allow the negro people." I think he thought he was letting us down lightly.

Un****ingbelievable. My friend was only visiting for a few days. Needless to say, that left him with a bad taste in his mouth about Thai people. We had all these ideas to set the place on fire or make all the employees think that there were ghosts inside which we never did. Fortunately, the place closed down for whatever reason the following year. We had nothing to do with that...honestly.

Another time I was with Jeab in Sydney. A car of drunk guys rolled by us. One guy hanging out of the window yelled "Get the gook! You got the gook!" or something to that effect. My first reaction was to go and beat the crap out of them, but my senses took control (5 guys vs. me and 45kg. Jeab) and we kept walking. I had to explain what that meant to Jeab...that sucked as well.
