VV
all of us have to face this inevitable , natural phenomenon whether we like it or not. but the question is, are we ready to face it anytime? are we brave enough to face it ? are we ready to face our destination which is death? our life-span is controlled by our biological clocks which are continuously ticking. anytime it will stop. once our time is up, we go to a natural process of death and we must be prepared to face it. oftentimes we worry a lot when loveone is hardly illed, with the thoughts of losing them and its hard to bear their loss because of our attachment to them. we will face sorrow when separation takes place. evrytime we attend a funeral, we cant help but think of how may our death be...will it be painful or peaceful?will it be sooner or later? when faced with great danger, we pray and bargain with God sometimes...brecause we are not ready , because we are not prepared. it is said that "to be afraid of dying is like being afraid of discarding an old worn -out garment." sounds morbid but this is reality. English_George
.......Death is just a change or a transformation............. ...whenever I read someone's tarot cards and Death comes up, they alwaysfear the worst and think it relates to them dying!!.. ..No..it just signifies change!! Or transformation...... ...Just as the change and transformation of death in real life needs to be, imagine a world without death....... ....Someone once said; "If you have lived your life to the full, then there is no need to fear death" (quote) ...People fear change, that's why they go to the same restaurants and the same bars, week in week out........ ....my friends at home ask me "how did you just leave and set up in Thailand?" ....It never crossed my mind, it just happened, I welcomed the change.... ...So don't fear death, despite the stigma surrounding it, and the image of the tarot card below.... Thus that which is the most awful of evils, death, is nothing to us, since when we exist there is no death, and when there is death we do not exist. (quote) Thus that which is the most awful of evils, death, is nothing to us, since when we exist there is no death, and when there is death we do not exist. ...
English_George
I don't fear death, but I fear how I will be dead and I fear how would it be after death. It's the normal fear I guess. Perhaps I am dynamic to changes...hmm...undesired changes  Just like people don't do some certain things because they are afraid of the consequences but does not mean they are afraid of doing it :?: ....If we spend our life worrying about the future, then the present will pass us by.... .....King or Queen, Lord or Lady, peasant or pauper.....death is something we all share and we will all meet......unless your name is Bernie Ecclesstone... ...If you think about death too much you become morbid....watch Harold and Maude......then focus on the here and now.... ...
English_George
But when I think of it, that's what I fear. ....Here's my solution..."Don't think about it". .......I knew my Phd in Psychology would come in use one day.... ..

Stu_thailand
I can honestly say that I have managed to squeeze many lifetimes into my real life so far, through experiences that not many people get the fortune to enjoy, or indeed, suffer. Yes, I do have regrets, and there is no turning the clock back on that. I think anyone who says they do NOT have any regrets, is either a liar, or just plain uncaring. We all make mistakes as we go through life, some learn by them, some do not. I am still on the learning curve. So, no, I don't think I am afraid of moving on. I know there are some good people waiting around for me when it's time to move, and that's something I look forward to. What I DO worry about, is who I leave behind here in the meantime. No, I do not believe in God, but yes, I do believe that we go somewhere else from here, and written here is and experience I had, which would explain that. http://www.thailandfriends.com/index.php?name=Journal&view=journal&jid=43722&juid=28069

condotown
Death is when your brain finally gives up its function due to lack of oxygen. Several types of people don't fear death. Those who avoid thinking about it and those who are really satisfied with what they have already experienced in life already are a couple of examples of people who don't fear death. My belief is that death is just like before we were born... we just stop existing. The thing that bothers most people more than death is the process of dying and the pain involved. I think that when the pain becomes too great, we will lose consciousness before we succumb to the great beyond or whatever is waiting.
tilaceer
Yeah, I fear it.. I didnt want to go the first time, and was grateful when I was revived..so I am in no hurry to go through that again...though debatable whether I was clinically dead, it was the ride I didnt enjoy, gets kinda peaceful after that bit.. English_George
...I've been very lucky in my life and have managed to get away with alot of close shaves..........very lucky in fact....... ...No, extremely lucky....... ...So I have become hardened to the worry.......( flex my muscles and 'grunt') ...I am more afraid of waking up next to a ladyboy.....which is more of an actual concern for me...... ....When I was born on planet Kryptonshite.... a special magnet was 'inserted' into me...... ...Now I have come of age the magnet has awoken..... ....This is a story of one man's struggle with alcohol and shortsightedness.. ....taking place in the badlands of Bangkok it follows a young man called George Kent.... ...and his unique ability to attract ladyboys... 2508
The question should be "Are we ready to face it?" Instead. I've prepare myself to but not yet already....
steevolution
now that i am no longer in a job where i faced dthe possibility of dying dailyl.... yes. before.... nope. i'll agree with this, cause when you're really tryin to stay alive, well there's not a whole lot of time or energy for reflection. The thing that bothers most people more than death is the process of dying and the pain involved. I think that when the pain becomes too great, we will lose consciousness before we succumb to the great beyond or whatever is waiting. yeah... it's the pain i fear, not death... THO I DO HATE TO LEAVE A GREAT PARTY!!! that part is gonna reeealy reeealy reeealy PISS ME OFF! i also realize that death is pretty distant and abstract for me now. i hope i can be as BRAVE when DEATH is sitting on the foot of my bed, pressing down on my chest and staring me in the eyes. Mazzy
Yes, I want to live forever. It is impossible for me to conceive that the world will continue on (maybe for thousands & thousands of years) without me. I'm much to self-centered to accept that ! VV
thanks everyone for your opinions/ ideas on this. yes no one knows when will our time be. might be at this moment, might be tomorrow or anytime. "death comes to us like a thief in the night" as they say, wether we are prepared or not. sometimes its the loveones we left behind are the ones we worry about. to all of us, may we live longer
Miyavi
wow now that is a fresh new topic... i wonder how all our previous generations survived knowing that they will die one day. When you die of age u will be in a state where your body will simply give up the life and you will have accepted this fact by then, makes no sense trying to imagining it, death is not a flavor you can describe and compare with others. For those who might think that they are not afraid... those who accepted that they will die... once you find yourself in a situation where someone is holding a gun in your face, you will piss in your pants and your mature definition of death as a natural process will be gone in in a slip of a second. zeusbheld
once you find yourself in a situation where someone is holding a gun in your face, you will piss in your pants and your mature definition of death as a natural process will be gone in in a slip of a second. actually i doubt it's that predictable. for example most of the time i'm quite scared of dying but those rare times i've had a gone in my face my attitude's been quite the opposite. i felt like 'well, if it's my time, it's my time' and didn't need to change my underwear after. it's more likely to be worse if you have time to think about it; if someone points a gun at you and your'e not expecting it you don't really have much time to mull over the implications. samy5000
Where do we go when we die? Where r we taken when we die? I'm not afraid 2 die, ever since the day we were born we were destined 2 die. Our life is limited, we r borrowing this life we r living. U never know what can happen today or tomorrow, just thank God 4 all the mornings U wake up with life. It's pretty creepy never knowing whatever can happen 2 U or what can be done 2 U. LIFE IS NOT A GIFT IT IS A LOAN!!!!
