Mazzy
Just being curious? Which is the Asian city preferred by TFer and why. This question is not about nationalistic pride or an attempt at finding ?the best? Asian city it?s more of a subjective question to learn more about Asia and gather ideas for future trips (i.e. don't give me the typical it's all relative bs, go with your heart & feelings on this one). Given that this is TF and all, I?m excepting a lot of Bkk answers which is fine as long as you can back them up with some interesting justifications. Fujico
INPO Tokyo....my home town. I just can't stop loving this place. Bangkok...I have been lived. approachable local people, tons of fun bizarre things to do, to see and to eat. Never get bored. Hong Kong...Where I am now. There is a lot of very practical, efficient people. This place is good for work. Super convenient for everything. (shopping, traffic facilities, etc) I have been many other Asian cities, but Tokyo, BKK and HK are my favorite top 3. best ever!
English_Bob
Mmmm Bangkok for fun and good food. But Chiang Mai for lifestyle.... it's cheaper, less hassle, friendlier people. I live in Bangkok, but I'd like to live in Chiang Mai again.

Returned twicefold. This one I call "Blue Steel", it's something I've been working on. And you're right mate, in this climate it's an absolute bugger to cleanse. Try using a real Black Rhino skin leather to scrub with, I get through quite a few a month but its texture leaves my skin divine.

Wagner
If we are talking about capitals, in SE Asia I'd have to say Manila. Yes, despite the crime, pollution and traffic. Rizal Park, The Boulevard and above all the people. IMO Pinays are the nicest people in Asia. Hong Kong is certainly a candidate too, albeit for quite a different lifestyle. In Thailand I like Nong Khai, for reasons I don't really know. I guess I need to be near water. At the end of the day I think Boracay in Philippines is where I really feel at home.
