dannyboy
As some people know, my journals mainly compose of songs and lyrics. Music is my passion in life...I can dream away hours listening to my favourite songs and artists... I find beauty and relevance in most songs, to me, words are a gateway to other worlds.. What are some of your favourite lyrics? It doesn't have to be the whole song, maybe a verse or even a line... This is taken from Guns N' Roses' Estranged. " When I find out all the reasons Maybe I'll find another way Find another day With all the changing seasons of my life Maybe I'll get it right next time An now that you've been broken down Got your head out of the clouds You're back down on the ground And you don't talk so loud An you don't walk so proud Any more, and what for Well I jumped into the river too many times to make it home I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone If it doesn't show give it time To read between the lines 'Cause I see the storm getting closer And the waves they get so high Seems everything We've ever known's here Why must it drift away and die I'll never find anyone to replace you Guess I'll have to make it thru, this time Oh this time Without you I knew the storm was getting closer And all my friends said I was high But everything we've ever known's here I never wanted it to die " This is sheer poetry...I hope you enjoyed... LU
Tool - Lateralus Black then white are all I see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see. As below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn beyond the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend. Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines. Black then white are all I see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see there is so much more and beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities. As below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn outside the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend. Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind. Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line. Reaching out to embrace the random. Reaching out to embrace whatever may come. I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human. With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out. Keep going, going... About thinking outside of the box, thinking laterally instead of linearly. The drums are in 9-8-7, the 16th sequence of the fibonacci sequence, and if you divide the words in syllabels you get a fibonacci sequence as well swinging between 1 and 21, so 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 and back, just like a spiral. Guest Ruby
This song always my favorite song and also listening to this song right now. I was thinking which part I like the most but I like whole song  Artist : Daniel Bedingfield Album : Daniel Bedingfield Title : If you're not the one If you?re not the one then why does my soul feel glad today? If you?re not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way? If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all I never know what the future brings But I know you are here with me now We?ll make it through And I hope you are the one I share my life with * I don?t want to run away but I can?t take it, I don?t understand If I?m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am? Is there any way that I (can stay in your arms)? If I don?t need you then why am I crying on my bed? If I don?t need you then why does your name resound in my head? If you?re not for me then why does this distance maim my life? If you?re not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife? I don?t know why you?re so far away But I know that this much is true We?ll make it through And I hope you are the one I share my life with And I wish that you could be the one I die with And I pray in you?re the one I build my home with I hope I love you all my life ?Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today ?Cause I love you, whether it?s wrong or right And though I can?t be with you tonight And know my heart is by your side
Stramash
I?VE GONE AND LOST MY LITTLE YO-YO (Fred Shuff / Walter Kemp) Billy Cotton & his Band V. Alan Breeze (Spoken) Hello old chap, you?re looking miserable (Alan ? Spoken) So would you be miserable (Sung) I?m sad and disappointed I?m as sore as I can be When the missus finds what?s happened She?ll be more upset than me There?ll be no peace for me at home It?s sure to cause some strife I?ve lost the only thing that seemed To charm our married life I had it when I left the house at half past ten I had it in my hand alright I showed it to a woman at the corner, then, It filled her with delight The wife will want to play with it When I get home But I can?t find it, oh no, It means we?ll have to part, It?s sure to break her heart When she finds I?ve gone and lost My little yo-yo. I did all kind of tricks with it, Could trail it on the ground I could swing it up and swing it down And swing it round and round I?ll have to get another one No matter what it costs It may not please the missus Like the one I?ve gone and lost I had it when I left the house at half past ten I had it in my hand alright I showed it to a woman at the corner, then, It filled her with delight The wife will want to play with it When I get home But I can?t find it, oh no, Sher?ll take the only course And sue for a divorce When she finds I?ve gone and lost My little yo-yo. I showed it to Matilda, She?s the barmaid at the Crown I taught her how to play with it And swing it up and down It fairly took her fancy P?rhaps she?s stolen it from me I dare not tell the wife In case it causes jealousy I had it when I left the house at half past ten I had it in my hand alright I showed it to a woman at the corner, then, It filled her with delight The wife will want to play with it When I get home But I can?t find it, oh no, She?ll miss it, there?s no doubt She?s sure to throw me out When she finds I?ve gone and lost My little yo-yo. Exploring
Way Back into Love Lyrics Songwriters: Schlesinger, Adam; I've been living with a shadow overhead I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed I've been lonely for so long Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away Just in case I ever need them again someday I've been setting aside time To clear a little space in the corners of my mind All I wanna do is find a way back into love I can't make it through without a way back into love Oh oh oh I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine I've been searching but I just don't see the signs I know that it's out there There's gotta be something for my soul somewhere I've been looking for someone to shed some light Not somebody just to get me through the night I could use some direction And I open to your suggestions All I wanna do is find a way back into love I can't make it through without a way back into love And if I open my heart again I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end There are moments when I don't know if it's real Or if anybody feels the way I feel I need inspiration Not just another negotiation All I wanna do is find a way back into love I can't make it through without a way back into love And if I open my heart to you I'm hoping you'll show me what to do And if you help me to start again You know that I'll be there for you in the end
Stramash
Greetings:This is the Secretary of War at the State Department of the United States We have a problem. The companies want something done about this sluggish world economic situation Profits have been running a little thin lately and we need to stimulate some growth Now we know there's an alarmingly high number of young people roaming around in your country with nothing to do but stir up trouble for the police and damage private property. It doesn't look like they'll ever get a job It's about time we did something constructive with these people We've got thousands of 'em here too. They're crawling all over The companies think it's time we all sit down, have a serious get-together- And start another war The President? He loves the idea! All those missiles streaming overhead to and fro Napalm People running down the road, skin on fire The Soviets seem up for it: The Kremlin's been itching for the real thing for years. Hell, Afghanistan's no fun So whadya say? We don't even have to win this war. We just want to cut down on some of this excess population Now look. Just start up a draft; draft as many of those people as you can. We'll call up every last youngster we can get our hands on, hand 'em some speed, give 'em an hour or two to learn how to use an automatic rifle and send 'em on their way Libya? El Salvador? How 'bout Northern Ireland? Or a "moderately repressive regime" in South America? We'll just cook up a good Soviet threat story in the Middle East-we need that oil We had Libya all ready to go and Colonel Khadafy's hit squad didn't even show up. I tell ya That man is unreliable. The Kremlin had their fingers on the button just like we did for that one Now just think for a minute-We can make this war so big-so BIG The more people we kill in this war, the more the economy will prosper We can get rid of practically everybody on your dole queue if we plan this right. Take every loafer on welfare right off our computer rolls Now don't worry about demonstrations-just pump up your drug supply. So many people have hooked themselves on heroin and amphetamines since we took over, it's just like Vietnam. We had everybody so busy with LSD they never got too strong. Kept the war functioning just fine It's easy. We've got our college kids so interested in beer they don't even care if we start manufacturing germ bombs again. Put a nuclear stockpile in their back yard, they wouldn't even know what it looked like So how 'bout it? Look-War is money. The arms manufacturers tell me unless we get our bomb factories up to full production the whole economy is going to collapse The Soviets are in the same boat. We all agree the time has come for the big one, so whadya say?!? That's excellent. We knew you'd agree The companies will be very pleased (kinkysex makes the world go round - Dead Kennedys)

Stramash
They say immigrants steal the hubcaps Of the respected gentlemen They say it would be wine an' roses If England were for Englishmen again Well I saw a dirty overcoat At the foot of the pillar of the road Propped inside was an old man Whom time would not erode When the night was snapped by sirens Those blue lights circled fast The dancehall called for an' ambulance The bars all closed up fast My silence gazing at the ceiling While roaming the single room I thought the old man could help me If he could explain the gloom You really think it's all new You really think about it too The old man scoffed as he spoke to me I'll tell you a thing or two I missed the fourteen-eighteen war But not the sorrow afterwards With my father dead and my mother ran off My brothers took the pay of hoods The twenties turned the north was dead The hunger strike came marching south At the garden party not a word was said The ladies lifted cake to their mouths The next war began and my ship sailed With battle orders writ in bed In five long years of bullets and shells We left tem million dead The few returned to old Piccadily We limped around Leicster Square The world was busy rebuilding itself The architects could not care But how could we know when I was young All the canges that were to come? All the photos in the wallets on the battlefield And now the terror of the scientific sun There was masters an' servants an' servants an' dogs They taught you how to touch your cap But through strikes an' famine an' war an' peace England never closed this gap So leave me now the moon is up But remember all the tales I tell The memories that you have dredged up Are on letters forwarded from hell The streets were by now deserted The gangs had trudged off home The lights clicked off in the bedsits An' old England was all alone some real lyrics - 'something about England' - The Clash

Stramash
Standing on the beachWith a gun in my hand Staring at the sea Staring at the sand Staring down the barrel At the arab on the ground I can see his open mouth But I hear no sound I'm alive I'm dead I'm the stranger Killing an arab I can turn And walk away Or I can fire the gun Staring at the sky Staring at the sun Whichever I chose It amounts to the same Absolutely nothing I'm alive I'm dead I'm the stranger Killing an arab I feel the steel butt jump Smooth in my hand Staring at the sea Staring at the sand Staring at myself Reflected in the eyes Of the dead man on the beach The dead man on the beach I'm alive I'm dead I'm the stranger Killing an arab have you actually heard this song? dannyboy
The older I get, the more pertinent this song becomes. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can And when I come home cold and tired Its good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells. Stramash
yes, I've heard it. It's a great song. They longer say "Arab" when they perform. They've switched it to "another."PC overload... Same as Holiday in Cambodia. They no longer sing the "N" word. They've changed it to "brothers." Nah, not everything is a wind up. It's a great song with interesting lyrics. The song is actually based off of an Albert Camus novel. It is still sung in it's (almost) original form at many Scottish football grounds (oh sorry, for you Yanks  I mean soccer) One of the SPL teams, Dundee Utd, have the nickname 'The Arabs', so The Cure tune has been adapted for them!! CiaranM
When the routine bites hard And ambitions are low And the resentment rides high But emotions wont grow And were changing our ways, Taking different roads Then love, love will tear us apart again Why is the bedroom so cold Turned away on your side? Is my timing that flawed, Our respect run so dry? Yet theres still this appeal That weve kept through our lives Love, love will tear us apart again Do you cry out in your sleep All my failings expose? Get a taste in my mouth As desperation takes hold Is it something so good Just cant function no more? When love, love will tear us apart again
Buttercup
You had to kill the conversation You always had the upper hand Got caught in love and stepped in sinking sand You had to go and ruin all our plans Packed your bags and you're leaving home Got a one-way ticket and you're all set to go But we have one more day together, so Love me like there's no tomorrow Hold me in your arms, tell me you mean it This is our last goodbye and very soon it will be over But today just love me like there's no tomorrow I guess we drift alone in separate ways I don't have all that far to go God knows I've learnt to play the lonely man I've never felt so low in all my life We were born to be just losers So I guess there's a limit on how far we go But we only have one more day together, so Love me like there's no tomorrow Hold me in your arms, tell me you mean it This is our last goodbye and very soon it will be over But today just love me like there's no tomorrow Tomorrow, God knows just where I'll be Tomorrow, who knows just what's in store for me Anything can happen, but we only have one more day together, yeah Just one more day forever, so
