Danielinlondon
OK, this is an embarassing confession, but i am 27 and i can't swim. I will be working on a deep sea oil tanker from september, so figured it would be a good idea to learn prior to then, as it could very well save my life some day! I will be in bangkok from late January to late February, does anyone know a good swimming instructor? I will pay the going rate, and will even give some extra at the end of they can teach me before i go home. I could learn in london, but i figured it would be cheaper to learn in thailand (I checked and they were charging £50 per hour at my local pool) Also i dont fancy learning at my local pool which seems to be populated by 10 year old kids armed with knives. Would be cool to learn somewhere in a private pool if possible to avoid the kids laughing at the hairy farang trying to swim. Cheers! p.s this is not a 'pick up thread' so happy to have a male instructor, in fact its probably best that i use a male instructor so i dont get distracted looking at girls in skimpy bikinis. Dr_Mike
I feel better now, I'm also 27yo and can't swim... It's very important to learn how to swim. It's quite simple and you can learn in just a couple of days. You never know when you might fall into water. We go often, and you are welcome to come along anytime. Iain, remember the pirates adage: slippery when wet.
