Swimming

OK, this is an embarassing confession, but i am 27 and i can't swim. I will be working on a deep sea oil tanker from september, so figured it would be a good idea to learn prior to then, as it could very well save my life some day!

I will be in bangkok from late January to late February, does anyone know a good swimming instructor? I will pay the going rate, and will even give some extra at the end of they can teach me before i go home.

I could learn in london, but i figured it would be cheaper to learn in thailand (I checked and they were charging £50 per hour at my local pool) Also i dont fancy learning at my local pool which seems to be populated by 10 year old kids armed with knives.

Would be cool to learn somewhere in a private pool if possible to avoid the kids laughing at the hairy farang trying to swim.

Cheers!

p.s this is not a 'pick up thread' so happy to have a male instructor, in fact its probably best that i use a male instructor so i dont get distracted looking at girls in skimpy bikinis.

I am making the same record

I'm wondering why does the company not include the ability in swimming in the job qualifications?

yeah i thought that, but there is no requirement  i guess if the ship sinks in the middle of the pacific ocean, its not really important how good you are at swimming because your gonna be 1000's miles away from anywhere lol

But i still want to learn...

Try university pool, I would suggest Chulalongkorn Univ due to its location at

central BKK.Much cheaper price with professional instrutors. Also People who

always swim here are about up 15 years old.Hope it helps.

thank you for the info, do they have a website or anything, or shall i just go there in person?

I don't know about the website, but if u visit there in person and you have flexible schedule, then after contact and get the details, so you can learn

as soon as possible*** tomorrow*****.

------

Personal Swimming training:

Khun Ruengrit Turiwong provides personal swimming lessons for beginners Adults and Children.

Bt. 400 per swimming lesson

I think our cute little bright white friend here wants some TF hottie in a bikini to ''do it''.

Good luck to him.

lol on the contrary - i look forward to admiring Khun Ruengrit Turiwong in his swimming trunks

My intuition tells me that he will get lucky

If you fall off an oil tanker you're f**ked anyway I think.... Better get it over with quickly.

Plus being a competent swimmer is apparently no help when faced with 14 angry Somali pirates with AK47s!!!

Or a bunch of hungry white sharks..

or keelhauled by Spanish buccaneers...

(do you think we have put Daniel off his new tanker job yet?? )

I feel better now, I'm also 27yo and can't swim...

It's very important to learn how to swim. It's quite simple and you can learn

in just a couple of days.

You never know when you might fall into water.

We go often, and you are welcome to come along anytime.

Iain, remember the pirates adage: slippery when wet.

ahhaa... where is our beloved hot classy latino nowadays?

I was going to learn, it included in my study program when I was in pratom 2 but since first swimming class of mine I fell down and in my memory I was left under the water for some moment... Strangely I dont remember how I got rescue but I'm scared (till now)and since then I never go back to swimming class again, my grandma didnt force me after I told her I fell down and teacher let me play around while all my classmates playing in the water.

That's why I love jacuzzi so much... :D
