So getting things in perspective for a moment - these people want to put a convicted criminal in government...

A man who was striupped of his rank, stripped of his right to travel with a diplomatic passport, and sentenced for his crimes...but the cretinous red-shirts reckon hes a good bloke?

...very intelligent...

Took over the Government House, blocked Suvarnabhumi Airport and blocked roads at Victory Monument? which is the worst?

Either way? the country has been facing a lot of damage?:?

Yes BUT...

The Airport closure did a lot of damage and people at the time expressed doom and gloom "the death of the tourism industry" which was obviously never going to be the case. As we have seen people tend to over react in the midst of events and the financial cost of the airport closure was less than first estimated (though still significant). Road closures are not so bad if they are temporary and limited in coverage.

Images of violence, thais fighting each other, shootings and limbs being blown off (Oct 7) being broadcast around the country and the world are much more enduring. Violence shakes domestic and international confidence and will make the economic recovery that much harder.

Thankfully such as not really taken place yet, a few scuffles and damaged cars aside. It was not that long ago that Athens had major riots with significant property damage for weeks on end. Paris has had its fair share in the suburbs in the last few years, some nights hundreds of cars would be burnt and there would be running battles with riot police.

It is all a bit depressing and annoying but as long as there is no violence in the next 2 days then hopefully the blockades will be lifted for Songkran and everyone can go home and have fun.

Until the next round at least.......
