~ Do you like the books.

~ Is it overrated?

~ They seem to be holding their own on Amazon #8,#9 and #10 the saga collection respectively on the best sellers list.

~ However they seem to be dropping like a rock lately. But of course still going strong in the top 100

~ Did you like the Movie.

~ Do you think the Twilight Saga is better than Ann Rice's books or do they even compare?

Since I didn't read the book (but I will!!), I can't compare.

I like the movie very much. One of my favorite scene is...When Edward/ Robert Pattinson/ gets his first look at Bella in biology class, he covered his mouth with his hand...looks bizarre but interesting to see excited Vampire.

I enjoyed fantastic misty scenery also. Can't wait to see 'New Moon'.

try reading Bram Stoker instead - now he knew how to write a vampire story.

im glad i didnt see it yet. vampire movies are usually good but i heard this is a love story / slash full of young men (like the guys at siam) running around in extra extra exxxxxxxxxxxxtraaaaaaaaaaa tight pants with there hair all permed and man bags and v neck skin tight shirts.

..apparently the books are quite good

...the most worrying thing is the way that women's eyes light up when it is brought up.......

.....not being able to understand that, I can only presume that the movie some how releases some kind of aphrodisiac or enduces some sort of psychosis in women,

....I've spoken with some very sound and intelligent women who turn into gibbering freaks at the very mention of the word.....losing all sensibility

It's a useful tool in many situations and the movie is definitely welcome in my DVD collection......

I think a lot of movies would to great without the PREDICTABLE love story / not sayin it a bad thing... just maybe it should not be THE BASE LINE that drives the story.

Haven't seen twilight n i aint judging it but if its one of those, "oh my budha, lets shove some butterflies up my nose n sniff and eat ice cream n hold hands, n hop they kiss or marry, or some other gag me ****"

then damn the producers and fanboys/girls

just sayin

Well, checked your profile and i see that:

Movies: Harold and Maude, Blade runner, The Lord of the Rings, Das Leben der Anderen, Twilight, God Father.

Mentioning twilight in the same sentence with godfather, das leben der anderen or blade runner is a crime against humanity.

Personally I think he would either walk out half way through (if in cinema) or remove dvd from machine and dispatch it from window at high speed...

let's be honest here, brutally brutally honest...

IT'S SH*T.

it's High School Musical with fangs replacing the songs. Absolute dross of the highest degree to make teenage girls' knickers damp, and teenage boys wish they could have that effect.

I forced myself to watch it all the way through on dvd and it's the closest thing to a cerebral enema I have seen in a long time...

apparently it was mentioned at the Oscars though; an unnamed actor said 'thank f*ck I never took up that offer to be in Twilight'

i did read all 4 books, not bad, better than the movie but kinda sissy.

Emo vampires... Written for teen girls.

That endless whining, damn... almost suicidal, no ****.

She wrote em when she had period i bet.

Not as sissy as Anne Rice books, at least they are not all homo and can use their family jewels. Anns writing however is way better and her stories are well researched and simply bigger.

Twilight has that taste of a deviant art fan fiction written by some lonely fat emo Gothic chick. You like it and you hate it at the same time.

There are a couple of other vampire series.

Right now i am reading Book 8 of the the Anita Blake Saga by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Its cool, bloody, lots of action. (vampires, werewolves, necromancers, were leopards, demons and all kind of ****)

Patricia Briggs wrote another nice series, i liked it.

it is more about werewolves and shape shifters but also about vampires.

I normally try not to criticise things I have not seen or read, so I got the book from the library, sat down and tried to read it. Put it down half way through before I got too depressed by the total crapness of it. Let's face it; it is aimed for 11-14 year olds, and looks as if it was written by someone in that age range too!!

Try Bram Stoker - now that's how to write a vampire story - not High School Musical with fangs!!
