When was last time I went to temple or giving food to a monks? I let myself before to be Christain 3 years ago, but, when was the last time I went to church? I really couldn't remember those such things..

What do I believe? Some says that this is the way of "Philosophy"...

I feel like it's just an excuse in this days.. When I found out that I didn't do anything BAD to others, but also not anything GOOD also..by this philosophy..

I rather go to disco than go to temple.. I never feel so well again to go to temple. I looked at those monks and I was thinking if they ever watch porn movies in temple or not.. I got nothing to believe left..I am thinking dirty about my homeland religion..

I feel well to go to DISCO, dance, drink and just forget a moment..

So what 's the HELL and HEAVEN for me? Where is it? After dead where should my soul goes if I dont believe in anything?

But what I know is I like to help animals and peoples who are in trouble..

Am I bad people who has no religion and I will go to HELL at the end of life then??

Tell me GOD, BUDDHA, ALLOH, JESUS, POPE.. whatever !!

i reckon religion should not be pinned down to 1 named god. Just make your own religion!!!! Take little bits from every religion that suits you as an individual and put it all together hence a religion that is perfect for you and your soul.

The main thing to remember is that there is something bigger and better than us mortals out there that created us.....just never forget that and i think you will be fine!

It may be that there is some higher power (call it god if you want) or not...personally I doubt it. I don't know what happens to us when we die. What I do know is that if people are good to me, I am good to them in return and vice versa (ideally) If everyone believed in - and acted upon - this simple philosophy, the world would be a better place than it is right now with god-fearing people killing each other in the name of righteousness. I think you're fine Happy.

I agree with WillyK and Canadian. To worry about where you will end up makes you loose focus on what you are doing now. Just being who you are and helping people and animals, seems to me that if that is not enough for any religion, then maybe those religions should be worried where they will end up? You're doing just fine!! :)

I agree with WilliK, Canadian and Bobbyboy, I think you are doing just fine by giving a hand to people in need. Keep on doing good around you and don't worry about where you will go after death. If there is something after death, your good deeds here will buy you a good seat.

i gave up religion a long time ago...for tax reasons. saved me a lot of money which i spent in the discos. had great fun. better than church.

what the porn movies concerns.. there was recently a big scandal in austria with a junior priests getting busted having porn pics on his pc. porn pics...with little boys. disgusting but i guess that's what naturally happens if you don't spend your time in discos drinking and chasing girls.

actually, coz of my stays in thailand i became interested in buddhism and read a lot about it. that's a religion i sort of respect ...but on the other side i can't imagine becoming a buddhist or even re-joining the protestant church again. having the right spirit does not require an order from above.

I love this kind of talk :) As a Chrisitan, id like to post someting i once read.

"Wouldnt you love for someone to show u the evidence that God exists? No arm-twisting, no statements of " Oh you just have to believe."

First consider this. If a person opposes even the possibility of there being a God, then any evidence can be rationalized or explained away. It is like if someone refuses to believe that people have walked on the moon, then no amount of information is going to change their thinking. Satellite footage of astronauts walking on the moon, interviews with the astronauts, moon rocks...all the evidence would be worthless, because the person has already concluded that people cannot go to the moon.

When it comes to the possibility of God's existence, the Bible says that there are people who have seen sufficient evidence, but they have suppressed the truth about God.(Romans 1:19-21) On the other hand, for those who want to know God if He is there, He says, "You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you."(Jeremiah 29:13-14)

Before you look at the facts surrounding God's existence, ask yourself, If God does exist, would I want to know Him?

I don't know the heave...although I believe that they will judge me for what I have enjoyed in this life and for what I have carried out, more than for my good works...

I know the hell...In this moment I am in the hell...Because this world is the hell...

The Cao Dai sect in Tay Ninh Vietnam do a pretty good job of fusing almost every major religion into one. Then for good measure they chuck in Joan of Arc, and Victor Hugo among others. I don't remember all about it but it is an interesting story of how it came to be and they have a lovely compound in Vietnam.

The way I see it, the best parts of most religions can be summed up as follows:

-Do to others what you would wish to be done unto you.

-Since nothing we do matters, all that truly matters is what we do.

- Be decent to people.

-Your pleasure is not worth someone else's pain.

Forget scripture, or quoting the Qumran or the Torah. they are guideposts, not Holy - I repeat, NOT holy - writ. People who dis religion have a historical frame of reference to justify their disgust at organized religion. Without it, everything from the Crusades, the Cambodian purges and 9-11 could have been avoided. Also, without it, people would not have any sort of common refernce with which to interact with each other.

I think that, in the final analysis, the whole idea of church is about a community of spirit, wherein most folks don't feel as alone as the world inevitably makes us feel.

Some need it, some don't. All organized religions share some of the same goals as revolutionaries: their primary job is to perpetuate themselves. This is why some folks never marry outside their race or religion - the need by the whole to propogate itself is quite strong. Atheists are the exception, not the rule.

Getty, if you want to go to church, go to church. It is aboutyour peace of mind, not whether some vengeful old man with a white beard is going to smite you and send you to hell. Forget that nonsense, and find out if the three tenets of most religions works for you.

Remember, Jesus Christ spoke out against "RELIGION" :)

The church is not baptist, catholic, christian, presbyterian, wesleyan, methodist or any other denominations or world religion. The church is not a church building. The church is people and the fellowship of like minded individuals.

quote:

Jesus "...preached a message of love and charity and of the brotherhood of all humankind. He so relentlessly railed against the religious establishment of his day that the scribes and Pharisees plotted and planned a way to permanently get rid of him.

Today he would denounce those who ignore the issues of social justice and those who are unwilling to fight for the rights of all human beings to life lives of dignity. He would especially denounce those who justified their uncharitable actions as the will of God. He would warn the religious establishment, again and again, that they imperil their immortal souls when they ignore issues of social justice, when they sit in their multi-million dollar "Crystal Cathedrals," singing praises to the Almighty, then ignore the starvation of people across the world each and every day, and when they demand that, not millions, but BILLIONS, of dollars each year be spent to create a mighty military machine, designed to bring death and suffering into this world.

quote:

Jesus sought mercy, not punishment and vengeance, for the sinner.

"Early in the morning He came again to the temple. All the people came to him and he sat down and began to teach them.

The religious leaders brought a woman who had been caught in adultery; and making her stand before all of them, they said to him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say??

They said this to test him, so that they might have some charge to bring against him.

Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, ?Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." And once again he bent down and wrote on the ground.

When they heard it, they went away, one by one, beginning with the elders; and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus straightened up and said to her, ?Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you??

She said, ?No one, sir.?

And Jesus said, ?Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again.?
