S5000 is too old right now..lens were shaken when i take pics with strong wind.. and it's not sharp anymore....

with all do respect those kind of camera's aren't really made for photography, they are made just to lock your memories of your holidays or events on pictures. These kind are convenient to carry around but for beautiful images you should get a bigger one which is more difficult to handle and carry around but has the ability to shoot PRETTY pictures.

It depends on what is important to you(like bcool says) what kind of camera you choose

Well, I'm just the beginner in photography, so I guess I'm just looking for something compact and easy to shoot. I checked out cnet.com, and this Canon got pretty high editor's rating (8.0) compared to its compact peers in beginning $300's price. I don't think I need a camera with a lot of manual controls because I won't bother to play with those anyway.
