What a SHAME . . .

WHISKERS

I live in a small secured village of "Townhouses" in an area called Klomperun in Samut Prakan. I would say there are about 300 homes on 7 intersecting streets . . . Not a very big group of homes, but very nice. Most of the neighbors on each Soi know one another, and it's a very friendly atmosphere all of the time. This is why I am so disturbed about this. This morning, neighbors down the street from me found a half dozen or so dead Soi Dogs on the streets. They had been poisoned. One of these was my good friend "Dong". He was such a friendly dog. As many of you know, Soi Dogs will make a portion of a street their own terratory. "Dong" knew no terratory lines. Even all the other dogs liked him, he could go where he wanted. He would escort people to the bus stop everyday . . . and then he would escort them back home when they returned from work at the end of the day. Everyone loved him . . . well, not everyone obviously. He came to my home often . . . he would lay outside with a big smile on his face . . . we were part of his security detail . . .

These are not like the ones you see on the sides of roads, with hair missing and large lumps and deseased. These were very well fed, heathy dogs that just happened to have no owner. All the neighbors would take care of their feeding(including Phong) and they even got occassional showers.

Well anyway . . . I've lost a very good friend today. Dong . . . you will be missed.

a loss truly when you lose a friend who acts only on instinct like a dog or cat.Their friendship is nothing but honest and effectionate. May whatever god, gods, or godesses this scum prays to send him to the bottom level of hell!

Whenever Phong and I would come home from a trip, Dong was always there to greet us. He would walk up to me with this big smile on his face and try to jump up on me. I would get mad because he'd have oil on his fur from sleeping under cars. So then he would roll on his back and try to play like a puppy. It seemed so out of character to see a tough old Soi dog do that and he always made me smile.

:( I have had some story about poision thing... There was a moment that the dogs in my house were poisioned every week.. And I still remember the moment of me carried the dog to the clinic and got them back to live... again and again and we were really scared of the same scene happening again and again, it was like that for weeks.. we all gone crazy...

sometime I carried out just their body home too.. it took a few minutes only to take their lives... mean if you see the dog shaking a lot then you got only 2-3 mins to take them to clinic otherwise, they gone forever.. it was a very bad moment even though those dogs didn't belong to me really. I still don't know who did that but they really want to kill our dogs.. we lost 3 or more in 2 weeks times.

I once lost my cat because this hell method. Now the guy that poisoned my cat had lost his leg by motorcycle accident. Karma does exist !!! No need to wait until next life.

Sorry for your loss Papa. RIP Dong

interesting...I just had a chat tonight, recounting a "soi dog" story from days ago with a customer....one of things i really like about thailand and bangkok, are the soi dogs. who could resist those floppy ears!?

Thats a dreadful and cowardly thing to do. The poor dogs were trusting enough to eat the poison without realising that their trusted "friend" was really a murderer.

RIP Dong and your mates from the street...

very sad... :(

That is a sad story, WHISKERS,and a sorry loss. Doesnt sound like a buddhist act. Hmmm, I would check out the local watering hole these dogs used. It could be enviromental.

Yes Tut . . . Owen was safely locked in his home when this happened. Even he looks confused. He's been staring down the street as if looking for his friend. Owen would only leave the area if Dong was with him. Dong was his escort also . . .
