On the Irish news it?s just been reported that Bangkok airport will not reopen until Monday December 15.

I doubt it will open the 4th.

Not after the PAD have destroyed the place, and then take whatever they want on the way out.

Did anyone see the list of stolen items from the last place they protested at?

Was a long list!

JustinBkk - surprisingly, PAD have not touched any of the shops in the terminal (BBC were in there llive this lunchtime GMT) which really just leaves a hell of a mess to clean up and systems to check. Contradictions on first flights (dont think there is much wrong with systems as cargo flights flying today) - some say 15th some say midnight Thursday - we will see in the next 48 hours...

"With the waning of the political crisis, the official in charge of Thailand's airports said Suvarnabhumi international airport will resume operations on Friday.

"Please have confidence in us," said Vudhibhandhu Vichairatana, the chairman of the Airports of Thailand.

He said the flights will be a birthday gift for Thailand's revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who turns 81 on Dec. 5. The airport reopened to cargo flights Tuesday."

The date 15 Dec is on the Nation website: headline

"Suvarnabhumi airport to remain closed until at least Dec 15 : AOT

By The Nation

Suvarnabhumi International Airport will remain closed to passenger flights until at least Dec 15 due to the disruption caused by anti-government protesters."

but this same article says the AOT and PAD are working together to get the airport open for passengers on 3 December??

In other words, 15 December would be the date if the protesters either deliberately or inadvertently damaged systems that have to be to international standards before reopening. But emergency measures will probably start immediately, and the King's birthday may unite all to work together fast.
