Eligible voter!!!!.... please dont forget/deny to go to the polls tomorrow... from 8 am - 3 pm------------------------------------ Bangkok governor election held in four months after former governor Apirak Kosayodhin resigned

Some four million eligible voters will cast ballots in the Bangkok governor election this Sunday. It will be the second poll in four months after former governor Apirak Kosayodhin resigned as he was allegedly implicated in a fire truck procurement scandal. The Democrat Party candidate, of royal lineage, MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra, promised to continue with policies initiated by former governor Apirak, especially the fight against global warming. He is running under the slogan of “Returning A Smile to Bangkok.”The Oxford-graduate and former deputy foreign minister also vows to raise Bangkokians’ quality of life by wooing voters with a populist policy of “Bt1 million 1 Community” so the city residents can use the funds for community development under their own initiatives.Meanwhile, another of royal lineage, and at 32 years old, the youngest independent candidate, former TV host ML Nattakorn Devakula, widely known as “Khun Pluem”, is running under the slogan “Vote for me. Vote for the governor of the future.”ML Nattakorn vows to make all pavements in the city smoother and initiate a project called “Oxygen Road”, where people can walk without using a car.He also promises all infrastructure projects will be friendly to people, and to upgrade the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s library into a multimedia library or Internet Café for the young. Another outstanding policy ML Nattakorn plans to focus on is Bangkok’s Job Fair, to be set up on Fridays through Saturdays for those possibly to be unemployed this year, following the global economic slowdown.Former TV soap opera and film star-cum-politician, Yuranan Pamornmontri, better known by his nickname ‘Sam’, is running under the Puea Thai Party banner.    The 46-year-old former Bangkok MP vows to rebrand the metropolis as a modern, safe and comfortable city. 1000 mini-parks will be created across the capital. If elected governor of the city jammed with 2.5 million automobiles, Sam also says the mass transit system will be improved via a feeder system transporting people to and from sky or underground trains, so commuters can leave their cars at home. It’s the first time ever for independent candidate, Kaewsun Atibodhi, also known as ‘graft buster’, to run for election.Judging from his past work, it is no doubt the former senator and member of the now-defunct Assets Examination Committee puts ‘honesty and transparency’ of a Bangkok administration as a priority in his campaign.Kaewsun champions the ‘New Bangkok’ policy, which he describes as the innovative policy workable for the people. Improving Bangkokians’ quality of life, especially children, the quality of schools and elimination of drugs, are key issues highlighted in his policy. As to just who will be the next Bangkok governor, an unofficial result is expected early Monday.http://news.mcot.net/politic/inside.php?value=bmlkPTI0MjMyJm50eXBlPWNsaXA=-------------------------------Who is in your mind?

I can't vote, but I think Nattakorn Devakula is an arrogant, spoiled and not very smart rich kid who would never have a prayer of being on TV, starring in movies, writing for a newspaper or running for governor if he were not the son of a wealthy aristocrat. Few people in public life are as full of themselves as this big doofus.

On top of it, his little beady eyes look like two irritated assholes.

Kaewsan has the best policies, but he doesn't have a prayer of winning. So the best thing to do is vote for Sukhumband.

I couldn't vote for Aum for governor (if I could vote). She's always posing these big existential questions. Governors can't sit around debating those sorts of things. They have to dive right in and get things done.

Now, Philosopher Queen could be a job for Aum.
