I like Huahin...Huahin is always the first place i think about... when i need the refreshment... as i remember... my heart always heads to Huahin... no matter what....  Last weekend i went to Huahin with my love(ed)... and i have (more than) enough pictures to make journal(s)... since there are too many things to share... so i prefer making it gradually...Here we go...I made a hotel booking in advance because it is the new year period... i did search for the target via google (google is my everything now... you know nothing... google knows everything)... after spending time for a while... i got this hotel. 01.jpgi checked information via website.... good interior decoration, fair price, next to the beach, near the food market, middle of town etc. i asked them about privacy.... they said "of course"... this room has a private entrance... and since there are 5 floors here... i worried that anyone would see us because this room is at the 1st floor and also has a pool... they also said "please dont worry, we have an electric shade for the pool"... ok... it seemed to be good... i booked it. DSC03119.jpg   i found them while looking for the hotel.... lovely : )DSC_0159.jpg  yep.... this soi (alley)... Huahin 45DSC03127.jpg  amm... private entrance...next to the reception...DSC03128.jpg   room number oneDSC03132.jpg   DSC03134.jpgDSC03135.jpg  DSC03120.jpgDSC03122.jpg  DSC03123.jpgsexy gap next to the counter DSC03124.jpgDSC03133.jpg from this pic... you would see the balcony of the other room (2nd floor)... and the grey one on the right hand side is the electric shade. at first, truthfully we didnt feel comfortable with this room... but well, we were here already... I noticed that there were people in the room upstairs... because of their stuff.... didnt see them yet...then, we used the shade... well, after that they said "hi" to us... (we sat on the chair next to the poor)... i know.. i know he has a good manner.... but he made us worried since we were sure that he saw us! .... then we heard every song they played and every word they spoke!Luckily i brought laptop there... (for being on TF..believe it or not!?...lol)... i did search for the target again... with the little hope that we could move somewhere (better!)... i got the place and it was available... so i walked to the reception and asked for checking out... after being there for 1.30 hours.... she offered us to move to another floor... but our hearts were gone (to somewhere) already... finally, we had to pay TB 5,500 (50% of the room rate TB 11,000) ..... and started the new page of our advanture... we made the decision based on only the advertising pictures again... anyway, just have FUN!------------------------actually i would like to continue... but it would be too long... so please look forward to see the next chapter 2456997854_55646405df.jpg >> A Member of The Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Aum...No you are completely wrong. My heart never took me to Phuket, well except when I needed the ferry to Phi Phi. But after the tsunami, I am afraid to return to there (Phi Phi). I just don't wish to see how it was ruined.

Even Samui, which I love is changing/has changed into something completely different to what I once knew, but I always go back there.

This coming Feb I shall visit Lanta, and a few days in another less visited place if I can get there. You will have to wait for my return in March for a Journal to see where it is. :-)

Now, where is Hua Hin part 2?

awww HuaHin.... for me I always stay in HH town as I got no car, its always easier to stay somewhere I can walk to about any places I want to. So AKA is def. off from my list.. Since DUNE located in Soi 45, it's almost HH market tho', that would be a pretty good choice... Anyway, I'm pretty sure that AKA is like heaven... I have seen some pics.. also private pool... seem u like boutique hotel huh... good for lovebirds ;)

Look forward to your next journal.

Thanks for posting about Dune. I pass it every day and have always wondered if I should recommend it to anyone. I guess not.

I look forward to hearing about AKA, too.

Hahhaaha........ our story echos yours.......

We found this place and it looked beautiful.... www.almedinabeachhouse.com

It looks amazing, so errr 'un-Thai' quiet and relaxing, very private.

We got there after getting lost a couple of times and following some of their bad directions, checked in and got given a shitty room down stairs with a view of the road (full of loud villagers, issarn music pumping cars and a shitty beach). After 30 minutes we walked out and got our money back for the first 2 nights and went to stay in a sad to say nicer local family run place 100m down the road for 1/5th of the price.

We did however return to Al Medina on the 3rd night to stay in a nicer room that they couldn't refund us for and it was good though not great.

NEVER TRUST A GOOD WEBSITE!

Your story made me smile, thanks.

Oh and a note on ''members of the small luxury hotels'' I've found that 50% must have been given the membership because they are errrr small and not luxury.

The last one we stayed in was The Lanson Place in Hong Kong, it was as luxury as a fart in a bag.
