Yesterday as i was about to settle down with a beer to watch the Holland game i lost the signal for Ch 3.

Called my condo office who blabbed on about this, that and the other for 30 mins and they said something along the lines of FIFA licensing does not allow the condo to show World Cup games all of a sudden as they have their own in-house cable (which only offers the basic Thai tv stations)

They suggested i go buy a 'normal' tv cable to connect my tv to the wall socket.....never heard of this before. The condo is under One year old and Im not sure what set up they have here in regards to cable TV, but trying to get a straight answer out of the technicians is a nightmare. Any ideas??

That sounds proper weird... as its on domestic every day TV.

Might have to get a separate cable from Panthip, but I don't understand why. Mine works fine here on both UBC Ch3 and Normal Antenna Ch3.

You should be able to tune your TV in to basic Ch3 but using the buildings cable as your Antenna. Try doing in Manually.

Similar thing... I installed a disc. Channel 3 and 7 were perfect until the football started... then they went off.

I called the company this morning and they said the engineer must come and set the box to show the games.

Ridiculous thing - if I'd bought an antennae instead of a disc, I'd have no problems.

Tried manual tuning as well and the channels are still blocked. Just found out the condo building has some new cable station on offer HIT TV......probably blocked 3 & 7 for the world cup to encourage you to take out their cable package.

The office assures me they have their top man on the job sorting it out......This is the same man who came to fix my broken shower armed with a plunger (i swear) and set about unblocking my unblocked toilet.

Its about license.

I heard they announced during game last night that, RS and CAT telecom are licensed this event. If TV receivers are via TRUE's disc, they wouldnt be able to receive the signal. Many TV audiences now watch TH free tv channels via TRUE disc especially people who live in condos.

In my house also watch free tv from TRUE vision and no antenna, but, fortunately, we use fiber optic system ( which is now no longer for sell )

I think its marketing conspiracy ! :-D

Anyhow it sucks big time! My channel 3 also went dead last night.

My "go-buy-your-own-antenna" project failed. Got really bad picture with the "high tech" antenna that I got in Lotus. Looking into expert help now from the condo handyman.
