Woke up late and a bit fuzzy round the edges this morning when Doh called me and said we had to go to Sriracha again :P

A motor tanker was loading gasoline when lightning struck the mast causing the vapours in the tank being loaded to explode. It blew the bolted down 100kg manhole cover off and into the depths never to be seen again, and buckled the deck about a foot upwards breaking all the pipes and gear.

Luckily it's double hulled or it could have been really serious.

Anyway, we got down there about 12.30.

Took some pics.

Setting off.

Stopped at the only motorway service station.

There's that temple you pass halfway.

Parked in the car park of the temple near the jetty.

14062010861.jpg

Low tide.

That's our ride, the little white one over there.

14062010865.jpg

Just have to climb over these first.

14062010866.jpg

On the way.

14062010868.jpg

14062010869.jpg

That's where we're going.

14062010870.jpg

14062010872.jpg

The way on.

Not sure if you can see the buckling. Look at the small yellow cap on the left compared to the one on the right.

14062010874.jpg

Hop on the boat back...

And lunch :P

Thanks for sharing Ant. Empty fuel tank with fumes is much more dangerous than a fuel tank that is full.

If want to weld or cut up a empty 55 gal fuel drum, fill the drum with motorcycle exhaust so that there is no air in the drum. Empty fuel drum can explode due to fuel fumes. I learned this hard way.
