I didn't know there was still heated debate on the subject. You might argue on the legality of the Israel state - although I know most of the facts, I think they are legal, but should be forced to let the muslims own their land all around and in their half of jerusalem. But that's besides the point: are they oppressing the Palestinians? Oppression, by definition, is unjustified.

The recent invasions and shooting of boats highlight what has been going on for 50 years, almost unseen by the West. They shoot fishing boats on sight if they go 2 miles from the coast, destroying boat's engines if possible to cripple their economy. They conduct arbitrary assaults on populations, making sure they live in hate and fear. It is obvious the Israel authority has no interest in peace, rather they fuel the Palestinian hate for generations and make sure the war never ends.
