Thai : Annoying Television adverts.

I can think of a couple

(1) Singha - featuring Miss World 2005. I don't quite get this advert. The cheese factor is over the top. This shows her telling mum and dad how to say "khrap khun khrap/kha". Dad gets it wrong and then its her doing the wai and the camera focusing on her face.

(2) MK restaurants - That song is so annoying. I never reach the remote on time whenever that commercial comes on air. Overpriced, bland food before the airing anyway.

There is many more but I wont bore you all. I actually find a lot of the commercials aired on tv quite sharp and full of humour. Maybe I should get out more.

Unless you have been hiding behind that mountain that you us as your photo, they invented a thingy here a few years ago called ubc.

It even allows you to program out those thai tv stations,,,you know the ones i mean,,,the ones that have all that highly educational muay thai on sundays and enlightening soap operas every night.

Try it... you find that those annoying singing MK chicks (although they look hot in those green and red uniforms) magically are replaced by annoying Thai Airways "Let's fly to Moscow" music.

That will be 5 baht please...I have many mouths to feed,,,none bigger than my own.

Yeah I know about UBC but i can't recieve it . The only television I can recieve is thai stations. Anyway being an English teacher I can't afford the cost per month. UBC is annoying as well because they play the cut off music again and again and again.....

BTW have you noticed all thai channels are odd numbers. Ch.3, 5, 7, 9 (mcot), 11 and iTv.

And I've eaten at MK just once (in fact it was a TF event) and will never go back. They give you fish sauce, pepper sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and rat poo peppers, dried peppers, sugar, sprerm sauce and catsup and it still has no taste!

I have been to thailand 3 times and I remember when I was a young, naive 19 year old trying to impress this girl i fancied so badly ( she was 19 too). Anyway I was waiting at MBK for this sexy girl and when I met her she and FOUR other friends suddenly turn up. Me being the naive farang decided to go to MBK (didnt know MBk at the time). Ended spending 700 baht plus for all of them and didnt even get a kiss!

Anyway the MBK song is annoying before I had a bad experience. Just kind of adds salt to the wounds and then a mosquito sucking your blood when your tied up.

well i don't know what kind of food MK is, but i got to agree with mike it's bland, tasteless and f**king crap.

now can't speak for mike, but american (or farang) food is not best for me ... give me good thai food, fresh seafood or affordable japanese food any day !!

Actually I did enjoy that event, but I wasn't at all impressed by the food. I tried to order a couple of things from the menu and was told sorry, not available. I don't mind eating Thai food at all, as long as it's tasty and comes without pak chee (corriander).

Thats because, stating the obvious of course...Not everyone is the same....some people have pleasure going into Mcdonalds or MK . Doesnt matter.....What is your point?

Yeah that crazy frog is MUCH worse than MK theme tune. I can't believe its come to Thailand. Everyone must thank two Swedish guys that started that crap.

Advertising for kids to eat veg is not something you will see with American commercialisation and thats why I differentiate MK from restaurants such as McD's and KFC.

I personally don't like MK and 1st time I went I got duck in MK sauce and didn't touch the suki yaki after my 1st taste.

I really love the Thai version of MK's suki yaki, think its called Jumzap Hut. They serve Jim Jum which has a lot more spice and taste to it. By far the best cure for a hangover. If you've never tried it go check it out at the Emporium beside BBQ Plaza.

After 6 years are any of these commercials still on TV. I don't remember seeing any of them in the last month, and I've been watching Thai soaps daily with my girlfriend....lololol.
