Cosmo
How would you share your wealth when you die? Will you pass it onto your children or will you do what Warren Buffett is doing? "The world's second-richest man, Warren Buffett, became one of the world's biggest philanthropists Sunday with the announcement that he would bequeath the bulk of his roughly $44 billion fortune to the foundation established by billionaire Bill Gates and his wife". :?:

The Punisher
$37 Billion to be precise! Not such a silly idea giving it to Bill Gates' foundation. He runs a tight ship I understand and so the money actually gets to its intended recipients (unlike many NGO's etc)

anenglishman
Buffett also provided for his children...generously I am sure. Simple fact is that it's tax efficient for him to do this. And if any of us had a spare $35 billion or so I'm sure we'd be doing the same......but also making damn sure that our kids are provided for. Cosmo
I always wondered why people like him never run for public office :!: Would have made a great president with his set of values and beliefs  And certainly would have been better than the current George Bush. Probably too many skeleton in his closet anyway.

Sukhumvit_Farang
I'll bet that Buffett's generous act inspires our local billionaire to donate his money to help the poor.
pdiddy
What else is the point of making money? He spent what he wanted to, he lived a good life. Is he going to be buried with his cash? NO. I'd do the same. I believe that if one is fortunate to sample the good life, it is their DUTY to help others out. But then again, I have grown up around charity as my mother has dedicated her life to philantrhopy, specifically using her management talents to run charities and her people skill to raise millions. Truly amazing woman. I was taught to be grateful for everything you have and not to take it for granted. As for giving it your kids? **** that ****! He made himself, and so can his kids, especially with all that education he bought them. They don't need his money... in fact they're the last people. Besides, I'm not getting any money from either of my paren'ts 'fortunes's'..... why should anyone else ;-P
