Loburt
After a spectacular 2003 in which he cracked the Top Ten world rankings for tennis players, Thai tennis star Paradorn Srichaphan slipped badly in 2004, falling all the way to number 26. So, what's wrong with Paradorn? Why is he falling into the second, or even third tier of tennis players instead of making a run at guys like Federer and Roddick? Does he just not have the talent? Is something missing from his game? If so, what is it? Or has the time finally come to dump Dad as coach and hire a coach with a proven track record of helping a player become a Number 1? News reports a couple of weeks ago said Paradorn was trying out a foreign coach for a couple of months, but hadn't decided whether it would be permanent. What should he do? Personally, while Paradorn's father Charnchai has done an incredible job in bringing his son this far, I think it's time to bring in someone who knows how to take him to the next level. Malky
In 2003 Paradorn overacheived. His biggest problem now, is that he is expected to perform to this standard all of the time. Mabay it is time for a change of coach. It looks like his father has taken him as far as he can. Having watched Paradorn play a few times, he appears to lose concentration at vital times during the match, producing far to many unforced errors. If he can sort this out, he could rediscover the form which saw him nearly reach the top 10.
Loburt
from what i've heard -the main reason why his proformance dropped is that he's been shagging too much. so fire his dad wouldnt help much, you think? I thought sharing a room with Dad on tour would kill all shagging possibilities. Unless they are really, really kinky. So, how do you know this Yellowsubmarine? Something you're not telling us? AlcoholicA
from what i've heard -the main reason why his proformance dropped is that he's been shagging too much. so fire his dad wouldnt help much, you think? LoL - maybe by concentrating on his shagging skills, he's improved his 'all-round game' but - hey, the guy's not a robot or a machine, so somewhere along the line performace will surely drop? Give the guy a break! he appears to lose concentration at vital times during the match producing far to many unforced errors Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy thoughts of Tata Young maybe? [allegedly?] Actually, I remember that Agassi had great success at the end of the 80's and the start of the 90's when he still had his long mullet-hairstyle.. but went through a barren period after having a haircut..... [a time during which he spent time shagging well known movie stars] He went on to rediscover his form and become successful and top the rankings once again... possibly a consequence of coaching [and more shagging] from female multi-champion Steffi Graf! So there you go - maybe Paradorn needs to shag a former ladies champion? Anyone got the Martina Navratilova's phone number?
thaibel
I use to follow the tennis quite close and in my eyes Paradorn is a good player, but rather top 20 than top 10. That he reached the top10 has more to do with the facct that a few good players (for instance Marat Safin) came back from a long period of revalidation. And a few talented and promising players like Andy Roddick and Rafael Nadal were making their jump to the topclass. Also it's never good to have family as coach (look the Williams-sisters and there father, who is a comlpete nitwitt about tennis and technique he appears to lose concentration at vital times during the So there you go - maybe Paradorn needs to shag a former ladies champion? Anyone got the Martina Navratilova's phone number? I think it wont help a lot as Navratilova is fully devoted lesbian.
Loburt
I think Paradorn's father has actually been an excellent coach, and done an amazing job considering he has never handled players at the level of his own son. As much as his son has worked hard to become as good a player as he is, Chanchai has also worked hard to become a good coach. Nonetheless, I think it takes more than he has in terms of coaching skills right now to get Paradorn into the top ten. Chanchai should definitely still be involved, but in a supporting role. He can learn from the process and from a more experienced coach, too. At some point, maybe he can take the reins again, or coach Thailand's next great tennis star, whoever that may turn out to be. I think Paradorn's got the stuff to be top ten.

flinca
I just watch Paradorn lose in the US Open this evening. It was a long game around 4 hours 20 minutes.
Loburt
He shouldn't be losing to guys like Sanguinetti. (I didn't see the match). At 26, he's running out of time. He needs to step it up seriously in the next two seasons or his best days will have been behind him. I firmly believe a new coach is absolutely necessary. Loburt
I would be surprised if he did that. He's still relatively young, and even if he's not among the elite players he can make a helluva lot more money playing tennis than appearing on Thai games shows or soap operas. If he does retire that early, it would show he doesn't have enough competitive fire to be a top player.
CuTieGirL
Maybe....he just found out there's more to life than winning . Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy thoughts of Tata Young maybe? [allegedly?] Maybe.... After dumped her, the girl became an international singer while he's going down with his tennis skills. I'd be sad if I were him.
Loburt
Can't agree, CutieGirl. He's still better off without her. She's spoiled, conceited and immature. She's also not as popular internationally as a lot of Thais, and she, would like to believe. And I'm sure there are tons of better-looking women Paradon could shag anytime. Including celebrtites. I seriously doubt he's crying in his Gatorade over her, or that their breakup has anything to do with his declining performance on the court. superskater
His backhand sucks everyone plays to hit almost all of his winners come off his great forehand but people play tohis backhand and approach on his backhand cause its so weak compared to guys in the top ten. But top 20 in the world and number 1 in your own country is not bad at all I think he will never be in the top 10 again His best days are behind him
