Nov. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Thailand's ruling party called on its supporters to clog Bangkok's streets to prevent a possible coup attempt after Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat rejected army demands that he resign.

``People who have cars and cabbies should drive and block any tanks that may come out if there is a coup,'' Suthin Klangsaeng, a deputy spokesman of the People Power Party, said in comments broadcast on Thai PBS channel. ``Anyone opposing a coup should also take to the streets.''

Have you ever seen a car block the path of a tank?

I expect to see a big pile of blood stained silly plastic clappy hands piled up out side the airport tomorrow afternoon!

sure you will collect them all up and turn them into an installation or something Chris

I was thinking about that........... but there is something better to be done for sure.

Those shitty things are a symbol of the dumb masses!

I am of course a visitor and not a long time expat,so i do not have a insight into thai politics. I still find it hard to believe that the Thai government is letting this run for so long. it does not look good when a mob shuts down the national airport. can only wonder when a stronger response will follow.

Just heard on the BBC...

From a cabinet meeting in Chiang Mai, a state of emergency has been declared at both airports...They are DEFINATLEY going to be closed for the next two days...

What next?

The last called for "state of emergency" was completely disregarded by the military, police, and PAD. We'll see if they start listening to this one... Apparently, some military leaders aren't too fond of the army's image on this one.

military ETA is 8 PM.

Is that a confirmation on the E.T.A?

C'mon boys sort it out, my flights on Sunday! You don't have to kill anyone, just drag them out by the hair...

Things will be ok by then, no worries.

Beej, for some unknown reason, I don't share you confidence... :(

Don't worry, I'm stuck in Hong Kong and supposed to be flying back tomorrow morning.

I can see it be open again by Monday for sure, maybe even Sunday morning at a push.

I bet you they charge people for their over stays!!!

There will be blood.

If the police have been given the job of clearing these fucks out of the airport with their under equipped untrained officers there will be serious violence.

Get out while you still can village people!

If the police really DO use force to remove the PAD infestation from the airport, you'll be able to paint all of that gleaming steel red.
