Kill Pedophiles

I know not to long ago we had several threads regardign the death penalty, this is linked in a way.

I just been reading News online and saw the case of a pedophile who has his sentence reduced as the Jusge thought it was too harsh as the guy 'only' raped the kids a few times and that 10 years would be suited if the guys was "guilty of repeated offences over a substantial period of time".

Personally I find that sickening as his victims lives have already been ripped to pieces.

So how should they be dealt with? If a pedophile is found in the act of abusing a child or other conclusive evidence is found should they be killed? Imprisoned for life? Or given an easy time by the do gooding groups out there, ie: rehabilitation and integrated back into society?

I know we talk about living in a civilised society etc, etc, however shouldn't such a terrible act be met by an act of similar destruction?

Maybe I initially believe it would be a suitable punishment to cut his throat and everyone is happy, it is still sick people we are talking about. Maybe we should cut the throats of the doctors who release them in to the society. They are to blame as well, if not more!

i think there might be a more suitable way in punishing ppl with pedophile and ppl with other mental illness, that lead them to strange crime or murder (like ac69uk mentioned). it depends on what do we expect from the justic system. If you think, as F2 has suggested 'eye for an eye' then just killing or tormenting them might not be the best way. because those ppl have a much different perception from common people. the way their thought construct are different. if so, that means we have to find a new way that is more psychologically effective.

just a capital punishment or life in a cage wouldn't do.

for some reason, i'm thinking of the way the treat Alex in Clockwork Orange.

life without parole in maximum security and no special privileges no matter how rich they were on the outside.

i believe in principle that the legal system should sentence based on how much of a threat someone is, how much damage they are likely to do, rather than some abstract notion of punishment.

that said, the pedophile will have a lot of 'new friends' on the inside, they just looove 'short eyes.' so punishment would happen anyway.

now if they're certifiably loony: a doctor who signs off on their release should be liable for their behavior for a probationary period with certain kinds of criminals (rapists, murders, pedophiles). sorta the way you are liable if you sponsor someone to immigrate.

i am against shariah-law-style torture in the name of 'justice'. just take the threat out, pure and simple. and make the people who are responsible for potentially reintroducing a threat liable during a probationary period, with serious consequences.

deterrence may not work on nut jobs and hardened criminals, but i'd bet deterrence works just fine on psychiatrists, psychologists, lawyers and judges. sort of an adopt-a-criminal program, if you wanna let 'em out it's on you.

The "Devil's Island" principle is what I prefer. Find a nice little island paradise in the middle of the Pacific -- but totally impossible to escape from. Ensure they have all the creature comforts. Provide animals for meat and seeds for growing vegetables, install generators for computers and all the child pornography CDs you can find. BUT SURGICALLY CASTRATE the bastards before you send them there. And them film them as they slowly go mad. With no way of getting any sexual release, they'll end up like crazed animals. Then make the film compulsory viewing for first-time child molesters. Then nuke the island.

Yeah, stupid idea, I know -- but I think you get the picture of how much I hate these people because I happen to cherish kids.

Han.

It's quite easy how to deal with these people :

1 Put hand cuffs on these animals

2 Put them in a room with the family of the child

3 Arm the family with baseball bats

4 Close the door.

When the family comes out of the room, scrape up what is left of the animal, and flush it down the toilet.

Easy.

PS On more than one occassion I have read where the judges handing out liberal punishmensts for paedophiles, after investigation by the families of the children involved, found the judges to be paedophiles themselves.

1 child a week dies in the UK through neglect or non sexual abuse.Paedophilia ,grotesque and as Headline grabbing as it is ,is just a small part of the bigger picture of an increasing social intolerance to children.Just my few baht....

excellent point, not sure whether neglect/abuse is on the rise in general or just more visible...

as for pedophilia i think THAT is on the increase because of the internet, and the availabliity of kiddie porn and the increased opportunity for pedophiles to communicate with kids..

i still think if docs and judges were accountable for the ppl they release, there would be lower recidivism rates (and not a lot of early parole).

Before you all form a lynch mob and go off to kill someone you think is a pedophile, there are some things you consider:

There have been several high-profile cases of child abuse/rape that have turned out to be completely untrue. One of the most famous was the McMartin Day Care Center scandal in which dozens of children, urged on by prosecutors hungry for convictions that would boost their careers, testified that several staff at the center, incluing the owner who was a wheelchair-bound woman in her 60s, had repeatedly sexually abused them. This dragged on for years, and these people on staff had their reputations ruined and were constantly threatend with physical harm for what they had allegedly done.

In the end, it was determined that none of it happened. The Day Care Center people were innocent.

This is only one of several cases where a Salem Witch Trial-type hysteria overtook common sense when it came to child abuse cases.

There are also other reasons why people may be wrongly accused of such a crime.

When parents or doctors discover that their child has suffered sexual abuse, the child sometimes accuses an innocent adult because they are afraid of the adult who has in fact abused them. Caught up in a lie, they then become afraid to tell the truth.

There have also been many cases where adults or adolescents who enter therapy at some point claiim they suffered child sexual abuse. In many cases this is true. In others, it has been shown, the therapist used methods to plant the idea the patient had suffered this, when in fact it did not happen.

With the advent of DNA evidence, we've also seen many cases where people convicted of rape - even when the victim identified them as their rapist - were proven innocent. Even victims' testimony can sometimes be unreliable.

Lastly, why should someone who rapes a 12-year-old receive the death penalty when someone who rapes an 18-year-old does not? Is the 18-year-old's life not also ruined? Will she not endure decades of pain and suffering because of the act of sexual violence committed against her? Why is she less innocent than the 12-year-old if she did nothing to cause the crime committed against her?

When you sit in judgement of others, exercise caution.

OK so after the slight diversification from the original topic, how should these people be dealt with?

I have watched several documentaries regarding this subject and as has been said here some see this as a 'sickness' a form of 'mental illness', I think there probably are those who genuinely lose their perspective on what is right and what is wrong, however I have seen interviews with convicted, self confessed pedophiles who admit that if they were to be released then they would do it again, no doubt in their own minds and agree they need to be kept of the streets for the safety of others.

Also I think an act against a 12 year old child is far more serious in terms of mental damage than to an 18 year old and yes, should be treated much more harshly, at 12. The reason for stricter punishment would not only be the fact the child would be mentally ruined but the fact that the perpetrator of the crime knowingly raped a kid, the child is highly unlikely to have much knowledge/experience of sex, for an adult to rape him/her is really just not on. I am not saying raping an 18 year old is right, it is still a terrible crime and shoudl be dealt with accordingly.

The reason I included these lines " If a pedophile is found in the act of abusing a child or other conclusive evidence is found", was to try and take out the argument of "There have been several high-profile cases of child abuse/rape that have turned out to be completely untrue"....The topic is supposed to find out peoples views on how a pedophile should be dealt with.....But if anyone is really interested in looking at the way kids can be manipulated and people wrongly accused, check out a Documentary: www.thejaundicedeye.com

So rehabilitation, is it possible? I do think a certain degree of violence should be employed, in War violence is part of the process and no one bats an eye, well this is a war of sorts, against sick pedophiles, so why not give them a birching?

How can you prove that the mental damage to a 12 year old is greater than an 18 year old? Until you can, you don't have a case. But it's a difficult, if not impossible thing to quantify, and may vary between individuals. Just as in war, two people experiencing the trauma may suffer from it in different ways and to different degrees.

Few pedophiles are "caught in the act." The majority of cases are based on physical evidence and accusations/testimony.

Thankfully, the majority of people in most Western societies don't agree don't agree with your views on corporal punishment or violence.

Maybe you would feel more at home in Saudi Arabia, or someplace where they have Sharia.

Loburt..."When you sit in judgement of others, exercise caution.".....good idea....I say..."better safe than sorry"...no-one here is suggesting innocent people aren't wrongly accused or convicted.....but the line YOU would have us draw leans way too far to protecting rights of the criminal...rather than the rights of the victom.....and that's what people are saying here....in particular, they seem angered by the reintroducing of these recitivists back into society...indeed...that's why this thread was started...wasn't it?

No, this thread was started to propose putting pedophiles to death. Neither I, nor anyone else, has said they should be released back into society. You can keep someone in jail or in some sort of hospital until there is some way to prove that they are no longer a danger, although that's a sticky question and I'm not sure there is a way to prove that. So I tend to think they should be incarcerated as long as possible, perhaps forever. Perhaps.

No one is saying they want to protect the "rights of the criminal." The constitution and our set of laws are designed to protect the rights of the accused.

As I said, there are plenty of cases where convicted "criminals" turn out in fact to be innocent.

The death penalty is final. And our justice system is very fallible.

How would you feel if you were on a jury and voted to convict and you sentenced someone to death, how would you feel if years later the witness/victim recanted?

I am wondering if you read my posts at all

I think that is an incorrect assumption. Ask most people their view on how pedophiles shoudl be dealt with and it usually arouses emotions and subsequent thoughts of violence. Unfortunatey those people are not the ones sat in power and the mighty ones sat at the top are now governed by a whole range of stupid do-gooding policies that prevents what needs doing to be done.

maybe they could put paedophiles in the same cell as the guy who was convicted here last week of killing and eating a guy not too far from where I live, he said the reason he killed that guy and another that he never got the chance to eat was because they were lower down the food chain than him and it was his right to eat them, they could put him in a cell with its own kitchen then send the paedohiles in with a bag of fresh vegetables and a nice chianti.

Thats sick BUT not such a bad idea

The lynch mob mentality that we are seeing here (hang em all etc) arises out of the unique adult human emotion known as disgust. I saw a documentary on TV about the brain, and there was a scene where they demonstrated disgust at work. They gave a brand spanking new potty (a toddlers crapper) and got a toddler to drink out of it. No worries the kid didn't know the difference between that and any other bowl. Then they tried to get adults to do it - most just couldn't drink out of something they know is designed to be shat in, despite knowing that it was brand new and 100 % hygenically clean. So what's my point, this is meant to be about child abuse right? Well when people's emotions come in to play they tend to allow logic and common sense to take a back seat. We are all disgusted by the thought of someone actually having sex with a small child, it's SICK! What kind of a sick f@#$% would actually f^%& a kid?? They should be hung and castrated and burnt and stamped on.

Another randomly inserted point. If I had a topic "what to do with arsonists who's crimes result in the death of children", you know people that light fires that kill people, it happens, and some of the victims are children. Do we also then throw out all the usual principles of law and order and torture them too? Some will say yes, but I just don't see the same level of cries for cruel and unusual punishments for every other crime that brings harm to children such as the one above (this have been mentioned). And if you don't think anything else is as bad as child abuse well ask yourself this: if you're a parent and you had the make the most excrutiating decision ever, to allow your child to be f#@!ed by an adult or have them burnt to death, which would you choose? I think I know which most would choose.

Next. The damage caused to a child that has suffered abuse will have to be carried with them forever, their lives are ruined so the perpetrator should similarly have their lives ruined - eye for an eye. Right? Ok well what if the child that suffered the abuse was 2 years old or under. Yeah it's very freaking sick, but being logical, the kid will not remember any of it! No mental trauma to carry. Do we let the perpetrator off then? By some of the reasoning going on here we should. But no, we still want him hung and drawn and quartered. Why? Because we are disgusted! And this time REALLY REALLY disgusted, it was an innocent little baby involved!! We should hang hime twice this time!

You know, I think child abuse is a terrible crime and the perpetrators should be locked away for a long time (that's my answer), but I've got better sense than to allow my emotions to get the better of me and turn me into a witch burner.

Harry,

I've got better sense than to allow my emotions to get the better of me and turn me into a witch burner.

I really do not think it is a matter of sense here when looking at appropriate punishments for pedophiles.

I can see you have tried to draw a comparison with the toiler bowl, however drinking water from a toilet bowl is not physically abusing a defenseless child, the toilet bowl and/or the person are not hurt by this act, I think it goes much deeper into the fundamental instincts of right and wrong that we are born with.

As I mentioned earlier, a good birching would be a good start, why not inflict some physical pain?

As for conditioned responses why do you consider, let's say, birching a witch hunt? Your views have been learnt over time from outside influences, again just another conditioned response.

I mean people are still legally killed in todays "Civilized World" so a good hiding is quite mild compared to that.

Also coming from the angle of being a parent, of course emotions are involved, I do not think anyone on this earth can be devoid of emotions when it comes to the issue of child abuse, unless they have some kind of mental ilness.

I wouldn't argue with the point that people are more outraged by crimes against children than adults. I would go further and say that whenever the victim is seen as defenceless we tend to view the crime as more serious. Where I live when someone mugs an old frail person the police describe it as a "cowardly" act, almost to imply that there are other acts of theft/assault that are brave. Don't we all have the same right to not be victims regardless of physical ability? With children of course we have the additional maternal instinct to protect what is pure and innocent.

About being more hysterical though, well take a look at the topic we are posting under, "Kill Pedophiles". You just seem to get a hell of a lot of that.

cs3602001, I'm not necessarily against (nor for) a justice system that encompasses physical violence as a form of punishment, though I don't see why child sex offenders should be a special category that get their own unique punishments. If we are going to birch (?) them then lets heat up the poker and sharpen the guilotine for everyone else.

Before you all form a lynch mob and go off to kill someone you think is a pedophile, there are some things you consider:.

guys one thing i want to point out as far as all the 'lynch mob' comments go, but when i read craig's original post i took it to be a tacit assumption that the pedophile was CONVICTED...

this is an important distinction, and no matter how draconian the sentence i beleive the lynch mob comments are off the mark in that sense.

a lynch mob is not a sentence, it is well... a lynch mob. however some interesting points were raised however, and it is very much a case of guilty until proven innocent when someone is accused of being a pedophile.

i actually know someone who ran a day care center and is currently accused of alll sorts of horrible things and the inside line is he didint do them, but the lych mob has already formed, in ppl's minds in that town he is a pedophile and monster. i will never work with children the risk is too great that you could wind up with a nightmare brought on by people asking children leading questions.

ps whether or not he did it, killing michael jackson would be a mercy killing in my opinion.

OK, well if we stick to the original post, that we are sure a pedo committed the crime and not start comparing punishments, i.e.: well how should a murderer be dealt with..blah blah.

Why should any kind of 'civilized' punishment be handed out, **** the perp is not civilized, sometimes all this do-gooding rubbish goes too far, a Pedo deserves to be scared, beaten, thrashed and locked up for life, what is wrong with it? Why should a pedo be given all these 'rights', he should just be slapped, smacked and locked up......

Down with do-gooders!!!!!
