Stramash
As there has been a little air of friction on site today, almost completely knocking my chakras off their most harmonious positions, I thought we could end the day with a nice excercise, and try to leave the day with some positivity... Close your eyes and take a few deep breathes. Imagine yourself lying on the grassland. Feel the soft green grass against your arms?hmm?.Take your time and look at those grasses surrounding you. Did you notice the unique shade of green? At this moment, the cool spring breeze caresses the grassland. You see the grasses swaying from side to side gently. As you look into the blue sky, you see passing clouds. Focus on the blue sky?hmmm?isn?t it a soothing color? Some distant away, you see a flock of birds flying pass but you can?t tell the spicy. Can you see how I weave your senses into the mental pictures? You are also more relaxed now, aren?t you? if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours... Stramash
Mondays are particularly stressful as for many of us it is the start of the working week. If the stress is already beginning to tell, try this excercise to recharge your mind and to maintain harmony throughout the week... 1. Find a comfortable place where you won?t be disturbed before you start. First, sit quietly and make yourself comfortable. Take a few deep breaths to calm yourself down. 2. Once you feel relaxed, close your eyes and picture a screen in your mind?s eye. Project a picture of what you want on the screen. 3. Imagine the picture with as many details as possible. Draw the five senses into your picture. The more senses involved the better. Stay relax throughout the exercise. Additional Tips To Bear In Mind When Doing Your Creative Visualization Exercise Tip #1 You have to picture yourself in that screen you project in your mind. Involve your 5 senses. What do you see, smell, hear, taste or touch. The more senses you involve, the more vivid message you send to your subconscious mind. Tip #2 Don?t be shy, be bold when visualizing. What is it that you truly want? Ask for it boldly and let the subconscious mind work on it. Tip #3 You have to do your visualization exercise on a consistent basis. Set a specific time everyday to engage yourself in this life-transforming exercise "The hidden harmony is better than the obvious." Stramash
I tried putting myself on the screen . . . but the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders keep getting in the way!! That was your concious mind wanting to be a sports star, but your subconcious mind overruling you for thoughts of cheerleader fun. I say go with your subconcious if it helps you attain harmony... (That way I don't see re-runs when I close my eyes.) By the way, excellent principle. You are very informative sir. Always happy to see you online. And yourself Doc. Perhaps to make this work for you, you need to focus on something that is real to yourself, rather than from the fantasy world of television. So for example, your 'picture on screen' could be your wedding day to Sassy, or your daughter playing on a beach. The important thing is to utilise all senses; imagine what you can see, smell, hear, taste or touch. So taking the beach example; you could see your daughter playing, you can smell the salt air from the sea, you can hear the laughter of children and cries of vendors, you can taste the ice cream or cold beer (Ciaran option) and you can feel the hot sand between your toes... Try next time you are experiencing stress and it will work...

Stramash
will it work if a person lays in a snow drift? no green here at all right now... doesn't matter where you are; the only place the green will exist is in your mind; hence 'creative visualisation'. You are the one doing both the creating and the visualising. And why this works so well as a relaxation technique, an anger management tool, a complement to meditation and a way of refreshing and focusing your mind... Dr_Sassy
Find a comfortable place where you won?t be disturbed before you start. - I guess my restroom would be a perfect choice. First, sit quietly and make yourself comfortable. - I always sit noisily..but I will try, I promise. Take a few deep breaths to calm yourself down. - I'll get my breath back, won't I? Once you feel relaxed, close your eyes and picture a screen in your mind?s eye. Project a picture of what you want on the screen. - I see a bigggg black canvas (but I guess it's much better than seeing a blue screen of death) Imagine the picture with as many details as possible. - I start to see some pixels now.. amazing! Stay relax throughout the exercise. - I seriously can't !!!. I get paranoid whenever I see sub-pixel. Tip #1 You have to picture yourself in that screen you project in your mind. - I see myself.. very colorful. I can see, smell, hear, taste and touch myself too. Tip #2 Don?t be shy, be bold when visualizing. What is it that you truly want? - Shyness is not in my dict LOL and I want to open my eyes. Tip #3 You have to do your visualization exercise on a consistent basis. - picture myself in that screen ? no way
