Stramash
the last 30 minutes of commando 8) you obviously need to see more films... you obviously need to be more open minded. this movie has a huge nostalgia factor for me. if you want, let's start a classic cult cinema thread and I'll jump in. i do so hope that you are not insinuating that Commando could in any way be called classic cult cinema? Or indeed just classic cinema?

Or indeed just classic cinema? hmm how to explain this. it's a movie I watched so much as a kid that it's for me a cult film. it's a movie I could play on mute and recite the dialogues by heart. I am not saying it's a masterpiece but it's entertaining as hell when you're a kid growing in the 80's. muscles, guns and one-liners were the recipe of the genre back then. they can't recreate that today with all the cgi and plastic faced actors. there's so many revealing mistakes and impossible situations that it's why it's awesome. anyways, let's call commando my little retarded brother I never had. someone bully's him, I'll protect him to death! Stramash
ok, can accept Commando being described as retarded lol. But seriously, know what you mean; we all have films we love, esp from childhood, that we should be ashamed of. But would still argue against the use of the word 'cult'. You cant really have a personal cult movie. Favourite is perhaps a more apt word.

English_Bob
Tremors is my favourite cult movie...watched Highlander last week, remembered it better strangely enough Highlander was one of my favourites too - I daren't go back and watch it now... The best character was the villain, Kurgen - "Nuns.... no sense of humour!"
