First rule - it cannot be from a porn film or we'll be here all millenium, especially given admin's extensive collection of such films... here's a few contenders Trainspotting - Renton's liasion with sexy schoolgirl Kelly mcDonald - special mention as Archie Gemmill's wonder goal against Holland makes guest appearance... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-7IEPTAoTg 9 1/2 weeks - I never looked at a fridge in the same way after this... The lesbian scene from Wild Things (every list must have 1 gratuitious girl-girl scene) Last Tango in Paris for services to the butter industry... Britt Ekland's phone sex in Get Carter... Amelie just for Audrey Tatou... Delicatessen for sound effect hilarity...

Which films do you like best from EU film festival 2011 ?
NoiBKK posted a topic in Arts & Literature
I have been to this festival from the first time they had it. This year I saw 16 films , 5555 I like "The 1000 Euros Generation" from Italy. A comedy which was quite fun. Another comedy I like is "Run If You Can" from Germany. But I would say the best movies this year are, "When We Leave" from Germany and "Forbidden Fruit" from Finland. When We Leave is a movie about a Turkish woman ran away from a husband and the consequences she had to face as being a Muslim. It is so real and it is happening everyday. Forbidden Fruit is a movie about Two 18 year old girls who was tempted by the world outside their belief ( they are Lutheran Finnish - correct me if I'm wrong.) I love the ending. I would love to know how many TFers went to this film festival. -
I guess Dracula

I've always been a movie fan and I can watch my favourite films over and over. As a kid I could watch any kind of gore-fest and love it. I was never empathetic with the characters either emotionally or physically. These days, however, I don't like to see extremely blood-thirsty movies, eg Saw makes me turn my head. The occasional movie makes me teary eyed and last week I even choked up at a Thai commercial for insurance (the one with the mentally handicapped father and his daughter who didn't appreciate him). In addition, when I was younger I went wherever Hollywood led me. I cheered the heroes and booed the villains. In the last couple of years, however, there have been several films that I just couldn't relate to. V for Vendetta... The 'hero' brings down a government which, while curbing some freedoms, was very successful at keeping law and order and low levels of crime. Surrogates... Bruce Willis destroys millions of innocent people's harmless fun, so he can reconnect with his ugly wife. The story starts with the premise that since people were using surrogates, crime was virtually non-existent and no murders had been committed for 10 years (I think). Troy... A horny Turkish kid (Paris) goes to a party and elopes with the host's wife. His entire civilisation is destroyed and thousands of people killed... Is it just me, or should someone have sent the ***** home? So I guess there are several questions here... 1) Are Hollywood movies better at stirring our emotions? Or has my personality changed? 2) Are Hollywood movies delivering political messages? Or am I just cynical?

Post a list of movies you are happy to share, lend, exchange with other members. If your collection is rather huge just post a selection that you may feel people could find interesting. If possible state if they are DVD's or some video file on a disk. As your collection grows, edit your post to add new movies rather than posting several times on the thread. Please try to refrain from discussing any of the movies on this particular thread (hey, I know it's wishful thinking but one can try and ask... ) Happy watching everyone. 8)

...then you have come to the right place. Post here if you are looking for some movie, TV series or documentary you just can't find anywhere in the shops. Hopefully some TF member has what you are looking for and is willing to lend it to you. Please try and refrain from discussing any of the movies here in this thread. Try also to have a look at the thread were members list the movies, series and documentaries that they are happy to share with others. Good luck. 8)

Now I'm sure most people are aware and know where to stock up on the latest box office offerings here in BKK to then take home. But over the last couple of months I also noticed that whenever I was looking for movies from past years, lesser known titles or dare I say non-Hollywood productions, all one gets is this blank look in the face on the other side of the counter. I'm pretty sure most expats do bring at least a small collection of their favourite movies when settling here in LoS (I certainly did but wished I had brought more  ). Downloading some harder-to-find movies on torrents on the other hand can be pretty tedious with the connections here and of course isn't legal either. So, I wondered if perhaps some people here would be willing to share / swop / exchange movies from their collections with other interested members? If you folks think this is a good idea we could have a sticky thread were members post a list of movies they are willing to share, their location (as in province or town) and any special conditions they have. All people need to then is pm each other to do arrange the details.

I'm probably going to see this movie in the next day or two. Anyone here that has seen it already? I'm looking for a TF'er review...

Last night I went to see "Serbis" a movie from Philippines... The movie take place in an old cinema name's "Family" which shows only adult films. The movie shows life in there from morning til night. It wasn't bad but I was so surprise why they put so much sex scenes in the movie... both guy and girl having sex and Gay people get and give blow job... I mean the scene they putting hmmm..... in mouth... too much??? Actually, I'm not against sex scence but I just feel uncomfortable to see it. To be honest I couldn't eat my pop corn (cheese flavour, it's my favorite) when the sex scene was showing... Is it important that good / quality movies have sex scene?

I was thinking about submitting a review with the hope of stimulating some lively debate. But after having endured Mel Gibson's latest drivel I don't think I need to. Everyone knows if a film is crap, because he either directed it or was in it. So, after portraying The English (including a king) as a bunch of popous, murdering, racist, racists in not one, but two, for want of a better word, films. Spewing rambling, anti-semitic waffle in a pissed-up hissy fit as well as bludgeoning, possibly one of the greatest religous mysteries in history, in 'some other film', he's now turned his attention to ancient South American history, and has decided to fuse Aztec and Mayan culture and committing other wildly innacurate blunders to celluloid. Rviews have been mixed, but words like, racist, culturally insensitive, innacurate and as one reviewer beautifully put it, crap are currently being bandied about. So, is he racist, confused, or just a prat who really doesn't know any better?
