thaibel
Some days ago I read a journal about somebody's new notebook. I have to work with a laptop every day at work and the labour law is quite strict as how long you can work with a laptop for your employer. Unless he gives you some things so you can work on an ergonomic way. You can create a lot of damage on your body if you work too long and too often with a notebook. Read more here: http://www.working-well.org/index.html I still prefer to use a desktop at home ( I had to buy a new one this year) and I have a mini-laptop in case I'm away from home for longer than a day. What do you prefer and for what reason? My working space at the office And at home
PeeMarc
id been used to working on my trusty old Macbook for a couple of years and loved the flexibility of it. But then one morning i spilt a giant coffee over it and it finally died. Now i have a big iMac on my desk at work and another at home and i love the scale and the erganomics are definately far better. I want to get a new Mac laptop, but for now i will wait. I think i end up spending more unnecessary time on a laptop because it can be wherever i am. Thats not necessarily a good thing.
Crustyjuggler
Yeah right, 3 puppies indeed... Now show us your real wallpaper.. Yep for me i use a 15" Mac Lappy for everything, but i do sometimes toy with the idea of a larger display to raise my eyes and stop hunching my back. funky_house
Ergonomically, you are far better with a desktop, providing you set everything up correctly. When I use a laptop, I find that I tend to sit in coffee shops and bars at low tables, or with it on my lap. As other posters have said, it is far more comfortable sitting at my desk, in front of my computer.
toma
So many reasons why I prefer Notebooks. I don't need the computing power of a PC at home, I need every "square centimeter" on my desk, don't want to mess up my interior furnishing, I hate wires.. etc  And at home

Neo
I have a laptop At work it's plugged into a 24" monitor, mouse and keyboard. So it's the same as working on a desktop computer, but i can just unplug it and take it to meetings anytime.
