 p1012065.jpg Camo net used for cover from the sun.  Weighs a good 100 lbs. The wind blew it around like it was paper.  You could actually bend into the wind and it would hold you up.  lol p1012054.jpg The sand was so thick in the air that it obscured the Sun and made it look like the moon.  The sun is in the West.  It was around 5 PM.      p1012059.jpg Close up of the Sun.  When I walked out, I actually thought it was the moon.  lol   p10120721.jpgThe next morning...clear skiesSee the mountains in the background. **** that is boring neighborhood. Human spirit is unbelievable: why we want to live in middle of deserts, in freezing temperatures or next to volcanos...beats me...

In the 70's we had cloth camo with rope nets - they weighed a frigging ton....

I'll see if I can find some photos I have of the original squadron of US AV-8A Harriers, VMA-542, under the nets at a field strip at Camp Lejeune...
