There's one thing I have thought a lot about and still, I am thinking about it. Proverb has it that travel enlightens you and broadens up your mind. On the other hand, being abroad a lot, and especially in one specific culture, also makes you strenghtening your streotypes if not even prejudices as you see specific behaviour every day. So my questions are as you can see above. As I said - be honest - first to yourself and then in your answers ! And NO beer option today - or.....aaah, what the heck! My Filipinos friend's father passes away. She flew to Philippines last Friday. I haven't say a word to her cuz I didn't know. I just knew that her dad was sick... Today, I heard it from my sup. that it was sudden death. gosh!! I felt like why I didn't know and besides her that time. I'm not sure if it's good to send some message on FB. or wait 'til her get back to work, give her a big hug and say I was sorry with some flowers and card. She is catholic, by the way.

Wondering about something. I just had my first weekend in BKK, and that was in the Nana area, so i know it cannot be compared with most of you guys here (thai & farangs). But the deal there is that its pretty easy to find a girl that instantly loves you - alot. I met a very very nice girl, probably the most beautiful girl ive seen with the biggest smile and the greatest personality, and i came around that bar everyday and we had great fun together with her and her friends. Actually her personality was more attractive than her body in that sense. You probably dont believe me but i didnt take her home, we partied together until she finished work and then we split, ofcourse we bought the drinks and thats alright. In hinsight i probably didnt do her a favour by doing this as she could have earned money on somebody else as thats what they do. But it has made me wonder - how am i looked at as a farang by a thai girl if i met her on the street ? not a bargirl but a normal girl ? Dont thaigirls in general have a bad impression about farangs ? that if we show interest that they think that we think they are like bargirls and distance themselves from us ? you understand what i mean ? dont farangs have a bad reputation ?

After reading all the views about Thai girls and Farang Guys. What are your thoughts on the type of Thai guys that have a Farang as a girlfriend? I know its not as common a the usual Farang and Thai girl relationship but it does happen. So do farang girls living here end up with Go-Go boys, motorcycle taxi Somchai's and isan waiters or do they meet yuppie Hi So Thai men with an overseas education. And is having a farang girlfriend seen as a status symbol or something to be derided by Thai society. after all if you see a Thai guy with a white chick she must be a russian hooker right ? (do the same stereotypes apply?)
