SweetieBabie
à¡Å×Ãà»ç¹Ë¹Ã¹ ( Kluae Pen Nhon ) -Thai idiom that depicts betrayal from your own family/ friends/ co-workers/ own people. Salt becomes maggots - Salt is traditionally used/ supposed to preserve foods, but it rots the food instead.
DJTX
I read recently, I think in the Bangkok Post, that he does all of his video conferences with his people in Thailand via Skype video, or some other VOIP type of service. I only have one question - where in the 'h' does he get the bandwidth
English_Bob
Thai officials always make the excuse they can't extradite Thaksin because they don't know where he is. However the BBC seem to know exactly where he is all the time - they even know what kind of plane he landed in! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8351743.stm
Admin_2
Government seeking international community help in capturing Thaksin Thailand is turning the heat on fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra by asking fellow Asean members and others in the intentional community to assist the government's determination to capture the former premier. Government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn said Tuesday besides Asean countries, the Interpol (International Police) and others in the international community have been asked to keep a look out for Thaksin's whereabout and to arrest him immediately and turn him over to the Thai authorities. Panitan said all the documents along with evidence have been gathered and are ready to be submitted to the Cambodian authorities so they can arrest Thaksin. -The Nation
fedor
Laughable. Where was Thailand's community mindedness when they gave sanctuary to Pol Pot?
PJack
Sheesh There are times I wish the king wasn't above politics. what makes you think they (the royals) are above politics? Why do you think Taksin hates Prem so much and therefore vice versa?

PJack
for Taksin it is treason. I have asked many Thais to translate this (I am too lazy to dictionary) and nobody seems to have the concept of an offense against the nation that is betraying its secrets, etc. in such a way that it is punishable by death. I find this strange. Thais have been brainwashed (arguably) better than americans to love country above all else. For Hun Sen it is brilliant. Why the F*ck not? He wants the oil fields under contention in Gulf of Thailand sorted out in his favor and who better to help with this and hundreds of issues he faces than Taksin. Its a no-brainer. He couldnt have done better than one of the richest people in Southeast Asia as well. It makes perfect sense. Even if Hun Sen is a thug.
DuskyShandy
He still thinks he can regain entry in Thailand and his position in Thai politics, by whichever means necessary. The Cambodians are nothing but stupid pawns in his game. I'd lay odds on him bunging their corrupt officials a (very) few dollars to set this particular ball rolling. Hun Sen looks brilliant. how can you say otherwise. what does he have to loose? the ordinary cambodian is not even close to the intelligence of a prawn, let alone a pawn. its the Thais that are stupid pawns with all this. Having said that, i think this will alienate more Thais from Taksin support than anything he has done to date. J'attend avec impatience

It's like a slow motion replay of something from like 100 years ago. And you're just screaming "WHAT THE POO IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!" But, hey, what you gonna do? maidai
this is funny, lets see what Thaksin can do for Cambodia, lets see if he turns Cambodia into a mecca of tourism and industry. If he does then good for him and the people of Cambodia, they need all the help they can get. .

The sooner Thailand overthrows the Burmese Junta and annuls Thaksins various financial interests in Burma, the better for the whole region.
