On a hot humid thanon, polluted wind in my hair

Smell of burning tires rising up in the air

Up ahead in the distance, I saw a flash of light

The roadblocks grew heavy and the lights grew dim

I had to stop in for the night

There he stood at the checkpoint;

I heard the shotgun shell

And I was thinking to myself,

‘This could be heaven or this could be hell’

Then he lit up a torch and showed me the way

There were voices behind the barriers

I thought I heard them say. . .

Welcome to the Hotel Ratchaprasong

Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)

Such a lovely face

Plenty of room at the Hotel Ratchaprasong

Any time of year (Any time of year)

You can find it here

Their minds were Thaksin-twisted, he drives a Mercedes Benz

He’s got a lot of ruthless, ruthless thugs he calls friends

How they clap in front of Centen, sweet brainwashed sweat.

Some clap because they’re paid, some clap for hate.

So I called up Jutaporn

‘Please give me my 500 baht’

He said ‘We haven’t paid a farang since that Aussie twat’

And still those voices are still blaring over the PA,

Wake you up in the middle of the night

I thought I heard them say …

Welcome to the Hotel Ratchaprasong

Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)

Such a lovely face

They’re livin’ it up at the Hotel Ratchaprasong

What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)

Bring your alibis

Leaders on the stage

M150 on ice

And he said ‘We are all just prisoners here, of our own device’

And on Ratchadamri Road

They gathered for the show

They clap with their clappers

But they still can’t get Abhisit to go

Last thing I remember, I was

Running for the door

I had to find a passage back

To the Bangkok I knew before

‘Sabai-sabai’ said the guard,

‘We are programmed to deceive.

You can meet all of our demands,

But we will never leave!’

There was a report earlier today that firefighters had recovered the body of 1 male in Central World (smoke inhalation) and now TNA is reporting that 10 bodies have been recovered (I think that includes the 1 from earlier in the day but TBC)! Wondering if security guards, rescue workers or reds? If the first two we would have had reports of people missing yest I suspect?

BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) – Ten bodies were found Friday in the ruins of the CentralWorld shopping mall, two days after it was set ablaze on Wednesday by angry protesters following the end of the anti-government Red Shirt protest at Ratchaprasong.

The bodies have been sent for autopsies at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Police General Hosptial.

The Erawan Emergency Centre reported the death toll at 53 Friday afternoon with 413 persons injured since May 14 during clashes between soldiers and protesters in the military operations to retake the Ratchaprasong protest site. (TNA)

Surrendered Red Leaders under House arrest, what the hell is this all about?

http://ow.ly/1O2xf

Seriously, why is anyone even raising an eyebrow... pretty obvious it would be like this.

Thai men, Thai connections, Thai Bhat

Name me one single country which doesn't talk with money

There is corruption everywhere, but not as hopeless and blatantly transparent as it is here..

On a separate issue, since those reds were paid, can 'protester' officially go on their resume?

“I am standing up for the poor,†he said. “The war is over for the time being. But in two months time things will start up again. The attacks will begin.â€

Sounds like an idle, empty threat, but doesn't make me feel very comfortable..

police cannot arrest him (UDD leader Jatuporn) as a suspect because he is a Puea Thai Party list-MP and has parliamentary immunity while parliament is still in session

and they probably give him the chance to flee...

Sounds like there will be lots of people getting nicked.

''The attacks will begin'' on what exactly? Rich people? That won't help the poor much. On Banks? That won't help the poor much either.

He'll squeal like a ***** when the BIB turn up and cart him off. He's already squealing and thats just to the papers!

I think that this needs to be tested in the Constitutional Court.

It may well be that the application of the ISA and more particularly the declaration of a SOE, which normally suspends many normal rights and entitlement due process, has the consequence of impacting upon his status of immunity as a parliamentarian contingent upon the accusation against him.

There may be conflicting provisions in law which need to be resolved at the constitutional lervel. I don't really know, I am just speculating. However, I hazard to think that the scope of application of immunity is absolute in all circumstances for a sitting member. Especially in the circumstances where one is accused of very serious charges against the state. (The opposite arguement for immunity is that some draconian regimes apply bogus charges of such a nature in order to silence an opposition member, ie. a politically based prosecution, thus immunity protects them from abuse).

After all, a sitting parliamentarian cannot go and murder someone, and then claim immunity until the term of that parliament ends? (Or this being Thailand perhaps they can? )

Book store owners seem to lose less I guess. No one steals anything from book stores?

not expensive enough and not a high enough resale value ... if i'd have been looting i'd have been going for expensive brand name compact cameras, mobiles, watches, ipods etc ... small, expensive and a good resale value !!!!

Cash baby, cold hard cash!

I counted 5 banks that has been trashed in my 6 hr walk aroundyesterday (4 Bangkok Bank branches) and many ATMS, at the branches and stand alone, which had been looted. There are a few cashed up poor around Bangkok as of Wed night. Spend it wisely folks......

What is the bet some start spending in a ostentatious manner, neighbours then tell the cops and later they get busted with cameras in tow filming a draw full of cash. (After all they can't go out and spend it at the Karaoke bars on girls with the curfew).

Someone posted it on Ratchaprasong News... for 30 seconds and it got deleted.

strangly enough that it wasn't on news nor speech/interview from CRES or Pol. Amnuy nimanoe this evening. I am confusing.

Yes, very strange. Since today noon/afternoon i've already heard of "9" bodys found at Central World, published on different international news channels in TV and on internet.

The bullshit of Ratchaprason News, they are going ape **** about the images of their beautiful leader locked up in a nice beach house in HuaHin and claiming they are fake.

There is nothing fake about them.

I like how they are now all photo editing experts, just like they were ballistics experts a few weeks ago. ******* losers.

I posted a comment, it got deleted. Keep crying about double standards *******.
