Your use of the word 'man' distances you from the younger elements of the TF site and highlights your relative 'square' status.

The preferred term nowadays is 'dude'. Ironically enough, 'dude' is experiencing a resurgence in popularity and usage after being out of fashion for quite a number of years.

"Dude, it's hot outside" sounds way too stonerish.

4/20 was so yesterday.

Man, it's hot outside!!

Discuss...

Maybe you should move to Japan for a while na.

It is hot these last days but honestly I prefer BKK heat to that hot and humid Java heat. Or try Melbourne or Madrid in summer where it can go a days over 40 degrees with dry hot air.

Just throw yourself in a fridge for a while or stuff some ice down your undies.

Furthermore, the state of 'being hot' is a personal, subjective one. It's apparent that people of different backgrounds, ages, states of health will all have a different opinion on what constitutes 'hot'.

The fact that you stated 'It's hot' as opposed to, 'I feel hot.' or 'In my opinion, it's hot.' demonstrates a certain inability to consider other people or empathise. This could be construed as an egotistical streak or a self-centred personality wherein the individual is given to statements of personal opinion as fact.

Following on is the imperative, 'Discuss.' Which sounds particularly abrupt when not softened by the use of 'please' or any other form of courtesy.

This would indicate someone used to being listened to and obeyed... not surprising, given your current job role. However, the 'Little Napoleon' element of ordering and expecting cooperation leads me to believe that you were much less assertive during formative years and endured a period of extended bullying, presumably in high school.

This theory is reinforced by the clear desire for acceptance amongst your cyber-peers. In choosing a subject as innocuous as 'hot weather' you feel sure people will agree with you and can feel accepted in a 'gang' which you feel you created.

Interestingly, your sub-conscious is aware of the abrupt, nature of the statement, hence your need to temper the phrase with a colloquial (if outdated) use of "Man!".

I would add that today has almost certainly been a slow day for you, and you were feeling a bit mischievous and bored simultaneously. Therefore you decided to try to enliven the forum with a light-hearted thread, which didn't require too much effort on your part.

(Personally I've been in the aircon, so I couldn't comment if it's hot today or not.)
