Jokingly - see this thread "dont be smart" More serious - but not much - an extremely complicated and controversial subject and discussion that will go on and on forever. Ok points taken and maybe TF isnt the place to talk about something like this. But I start from a general rule in life - that if someone doesnt want to talk about something he/she almost certainly has something important to say but doesnt know how to say it in the right way. SgtPepper
The would b suicide bomber in london being shot five times and being killed made me happy! A good start to the morning to know that another maggot has been exterminated London is that little bit safer and the world is a happier place than it was before this maggot was trashed. So at what point did "would b suicide bomber in london" get translated into "unarmed, innocent brazilian getting killied" IF AND IT IS A BIG IF the police did not kill a would b bomber as originally reported then yes that is most tragic and there will no doubt be consequenses for those who acted. On th other hand if as in my original post it turns out to have been a would b suicide bomber then yes I am so much happir to know that such a maggot is off this earth for good. The only sad thing is you making a cheap point by twisting my words to mean something very different than the original post which is quite clear for anyone to see. You seem to make a habit of jumping up and down and asserting that you have the high moral ground on just about anything whereas it seems you lack the intelignce to escape from the reactionairy. That is a disgrqace and he is a racist a fascist or whatever or label you like to put on people who say anything that conflicts with your world view. I think you are simply wrong and ill informd on many issues and unable to see the broad picture but maybe that could be said of me? And that my friend is the point of agreeing to disagree. It is not always the case that you need to rubbish someone to disagree with them or their point of view. It only results in people switching off or writing this long post. So what made you happy today then?
SgtPepper
PS I JUST SEEN THAT IT WAS IN FACT A TRAGIC ERROR ON THE PART OF THE BRITISH POLICE and while i cant know the detail one hopes that at least the police had a genuine reason to have made such an error. Of course the guy did not deserve to die just cause he was dumb enough to not do as the police said in a highly tense situation but imagine if you were policeman and you thought a guy who had evaded you was about to blow you and all around you to kingdom come just by detonating a bomb. How many would have done the same and simply blown the guy away out of calculated fear based on the cricumstance of bombs going off and they guy not cooperating etc etc? In Brazil it would just be yet another killing by the polic as they have had many such problems but ultimately it is all a geat tragedy from which maybe some lessons can be learned? Next time people chase you with guns shouting that they are police and asking you to do a b or c just ******* do it! and complain later. Otherwise you might get your head blown off. Do the senisble thing ! Especially when you are in a foreign country!

Of course you are right in saying that seeing or hearing about any human being shot 5 times in the head is not a great reason to be happy by any means and if the truth be told I was just expressing my frustration and some measure of relief/joy at the idea of one of the would b bombers being taken out of the equation in as clear and concise way as possible and thus never to cause such misery again. As for labels? The problem is that people can make all manner of comments that one may deem to be this that or the other [it is a matter of interpretation] aand that would not make them actually the labe you give them but rather they may be over reacted or exxagerating to stress a point. Personally I am a great believer in people hav the absolut right and indeed tendency towards prejuidice of all sorts based on human nature and experience but how people act upon these prejuidices bing the actual barometer of their character. Best not to be stuck with absolutes and better still to engage with those whose views we do not share. Otherwise we create catoon characatures that do not do justice to the complex nature of human beings. OH as the topic was WHAT MAKES ONE HAPPY sorry for going off topic in the first place a little so what makes me happy is going down a long hill [HOWTH HEAD] on a bike with the sun shining and gentle cool breeze and my mp3 player in full blast as I listen to Pink Flyods Great Gig In The Sky or some other such wonderful piece off music [jazz waltz by Shostkovitch for example]. Thn to stop off at the end of the ride and have a nice ice cream! Dont you just love nostalgia?
