From 9pm itwas kind of ok..not so many 2000 year plus wannabes and playing the tunes i regongised from the last 5-15 years. from 10pm they increased the volume that i couldnt hear myself think in front of darkness and my 75 baht small chang. I am not a tourist and because i am single i dont suit this type of clientile...fat, bald headed english hooligans started pouring in, singing footlball chants and causing a nuisance.. NOW i know what green day was talking about when "nice guys finish last". I completely agree.... the place is a freak magnet! but dont for one moment think I hang around the khao san area. I have often expressed my displeasure at venturing to KSR. You need to try a little harder then that i agree... why not complain about ALL the KSR clubs and bars, since they all suck in pretty much the same way (except for that one hotel bar that's open all night, that Does Not Suck primariily by virtue of being open all night). i am not big into clubbing, but i *am* a spoilt new yorker and clubs in this town generally suck, especially the music--all the pop-hop hits that everyone got sick of 2 years ago over, and over, and over. and djs, for the most part, dont even do anything that requires a pitch control. they might as well plug their ipod in (some are doing just that). that said, plenty else to do in this town and i dont have time to go out generally anyway. My memory of the place, from one visit, is that it is full of the ladies that are now too old to walk up and down Sukhumvit for their business. I have found that the wait staff in many restaurants that cater to Westerners give you less attention if your Thai girlfriend is with you. MisterMan and I co-hosted an event at TF last summer. When my Thai friend tried to explain to the manager that we were having many TFers show up he blew her off. When I went back later, alone, and dealt with the manager and expalined that upwards of 75 people were coming for appetizers and drinks he sectioned of a part of the restaurant for us. Some of the worst service I have received with my girlfriend was at Tony Roma's on Sukhumvit Rd. Not to mention having my buddy spend 3 days in bed with food poisoning after eating there.
