PattayaDaz
Went out for a Thai seafood meal with a mate last night.... Is Thursday nite ''Mia noi nite'' in Thailand :?: ... Why you ask.... well while I was waiting for the food to arrive I studied my fellow diners.. Nice seafood place, popular with Thai's no English menu and no farangs apart from me and my buddy... Well seated at five seperate tables were upper middle aged Thai men, well dressed middle class types ALL seated with a young (18 - 25+) Thai girl... (No don't think they we having dinner with their daughter :? ) So whats my point :?: Well with all the coverage that older farangs get for having younger Thai wives/GF just wanted to note the fact that it doesn't seem that alien to the Thai way of life.. The only difference I could is that most older farang guys have to divorce their older wife before finding a newer younger model.. Also...what do these respectable Thai gentlemen tell their Mia luang when they go out every Thursday :?:
i_love_som_tam
Yep PD. Farangs get a bad rap. At my girlfriend's restaurant I have seen this many times. One man, Lek, has come in for lunch, dinner and a late dinner all in the same day with 3 different ladies. Lek is about 60 an none of these ladies were over 25.
PattayaDaz
ILST Lek is about 60 an none of these ladies were over 25. Hahah... With a name like ''Lek'' you'd think he'd be lucky to have a girlfriend at all.......
Loburt
I notice no one ever comments on the Japanese, Korean or Chinese guys doing exactly the same thing. It's always the ugly old evil farang with the young girl. It's never the ugly old evil Japanese guy with the young girl. You can see that every night in Silom and Sukhumvit. PattayaDaz
Very true Loburt....My guess is that the media in Asia doesn't focus and sensationalise sex to quite the degree in does in say the UK... Everybody knows its going on but they don't castigate men for doing what comes naturally.. Its only western moralising that brings it peoples attention..After all its not that many years ago that many of the working girls in Thailand were just that ''working girls'' 15 yrs of age.... Mostly because asian men prefer them young...Nothing to do with farangs..there weren't enough of them here then to influence the market..

Loburt
the poster was obvisouly in thailand. there was no need to point it out. the poster himself understood my point and responded with "very true." haven't seen anyone make that remark in relation to your failed attempt at trying to show how smart you think you are by correcting a nonexistant mistake. (the one in thaialnd not the one in japan, korea or china) i have, maybe once or twice, and guess what i saw? lots of japanese men, and some korean and chinese men (yes, and farrangs) with young girls (or young boys). sex tourists aside, even the crack-addled casual observer will note that there are many chinese men born and raised in thailand, and they can be seen parading their mia noys all over thonburi, right alongside the thai men and *their* mia noy herds. btw...P-daz...please correct me if am wrong and you were in fact in japan, korea, or china observing several pairs of older thai men with young girls.... btw... fb2... please correct me if i am wrong but you do not in fact read posts before you respond to them. zeusbheld
How do you know those girls are Mia Noi? And How do you know those men are married?.. Did they write ?This is my MiaNoi? on their forehead? a common sight in a condo wherein single college girls are living quite well: a fiftysomething thai guy pulls up in his mercedes or bmw, buys her dinner in the restaurant downstairs, then disappears into her room for a few hours before driving away. i'm just guessing that he's payin the rent, etc. i don't *know* but you'd have to admit it's a half-decent guess... I know some Thai men who have ?official MiaNoi? (meaning MiaLuang approved). In many cases MiaLuang couldn?t care less about the MisNoi thing as long as the husband has enough money for them. Isn?t a thing for you to envy? can't say i envy some guy exercising his right to pay rent in more than one place, no.
PattayaDaz
Perioer Isn?t a thing for you to envy Nope...and nothing to be proud of either... Mia noi's (whether sanctioned by the major wife or not) are not a uniquely Thai phenomenom.... Other cultures, notable the Chinese do this too... There the major wife is called a Tai tai (in Cantonese anyway) Anyhow I have heard many reasons for having a Mia noi...from both male and female friends..both for and against. Some popular ones are..... Wife busies herself running the household no time to take care of husbands sexual needs... Husband doesn't find his wife attractive after childbirth.. Sex is no longer stimulating for husband as wife's p**** is slack after childbirth.....(small asian willy prob :?: ) Wife has lost interest in sex due to menopause or finds sex painful.. Husband has spare cash and wants to fluant it..so sets himself up with young hottie to show off to friends.. Previously in Asian societes women weren't financially independant so couldn't complain if husband took a second wife.. Primary wife was unable to provide a male offspring.. Wife tuned into a nagging shrew so husband sought quiet relief elsewhere..... Anyhow loads of reasons ... but in reality if you have a wife and you are happy why get a second one :?: and if you aren't happy get divorced.....if you can afford it In reality in the ''western world'' due to the emancipation or women and draconian divorce laws...Men generally don't dare to have a Mia noi......... The Punisher
not only thai men but farangs also have mia noi too.it's embeded in male chromosome  Sorry Chrryberry, you are wrong. zeusbheld
Husband has spare cash and wants to fluant it..so sets himself up with young hottie to show off to friends.. i suspect this one's the winner, regardless of what they say. i've heard tales of how they don't have all that much sex, but lots of bills.. In reality in the ''western world'' due to the emancipation or women and draconian divorce laws...Men generally don't dare to have a Mia noi......... in reality in new york i suspect the high rents have more to do with it... sunsnow
Previously in Asian societes women weren't financially independant so couldn't complain if husband took a second wife.. And when the western style female independence starts to make its way finally to Asia, like it has started to do...guess what: all those asian men with their BMWs are kicking and screaming and doing anything they can to keep up this, in my own cultural background, disgusting habit. And even some women go along with their intentions...

condotown
With over one billion people in the world (according to CNN today) living on less than one dollar (under 38 baht) per day, I could see how there would be an abundance of ladies all over the place willing to be supported or taken care of without requiring some elaborate ceremony. Monogamy is hard work and some people believe it is an unnatural state for the male of the human species.
